{The Kindergarten class has been
Oh* Easter activities. The students
• have .been drawing Easter eggs and
they are Warping numbers. and
letters.
The Grade 1 class -has been
working with eggs and beans. They
are making baskets for Easter and
are whiting eggs. They have been
whiting the beans. The pupils are
getting ready for the meal they
prepare at the aid of each m.outh.
The Grade 2 class has been writing
stories about Easter. They are also
painting eggs for Easter. In spelling,
they de spelling cards and in math,
they are working on subtraction.

JUNIORS
The junior students got a taste of
live music last Illeesday when the F.
E. Madill. Senior Concert Band came
for musical visit.
The Grade 4-5 class is solving
word problems in math and reading
novels in English There have been
two chess tournaments at Turnberry
and the jimiors had a representative
in both. Allen deVos was their rep
and he proved to be an excellent
player in both tournaments.

INTERMEDIATE
The Grade 6-7s are almost finished
the book Anne of Green Gables. It
hats been very exciting studying the
novel.
In mathematics, Grade 6 is
working its way through a unit on
•fractions. Grade 7 just finished
fractions and they're starting ratio
-and percentage. Algebra is the topic
for one group of Grade 8s, while the
other group is finishing up a unit on
the area and volume of a cylinder.
Mr. Sinnamon is teaching the
Grade 8s the subject and predicate
of sentences for their news stories
they write in the mornings.
In history, the Grade 7s and 8s are
studying the opening of the
Canadian West in geograplr- and the
Mississippi River,
Rob Thompson, a Grade 8 seudent,
was the winner of the contest for
naming our news column.

Extra-Oarelcular Activities'
On March 29, all the students Of
Tornberry Central School-6196rd
the sounds of the F. E. Madill Smor
Concert Band. We enjoyed some
very lively and loud songs. Some
songs were "Who's Johnny?", which
is the theme song from the movie
"Short Circuit" and the popular
"Starship" song "Sara". The band,
also played other catchy tunes.
One more thing: our school halls
and library are filling up with the
Grade 7 and 8 students' science fair
projects. Now, we are awaiting the
names of the winners.

• This' week at Turnberry School, we
are stalling to practise harden ball
techniques. Outside at recess, some
Grade 7s and 8s are starting to play.

our first tournament and are star-
ting a • second one. Nobody at our
school is bored with all the activities
going on these'days.
