Howick came out flying; 'n Clio
tinrd : period and dominated play,
managing to outscore Beverly three
goals to one,Rowick scorers were
"King, Gibson" and Rob Van Den
Broek and assists went to Philip
Livermore, Henhoeffer,, Jacobson
and Weber. Miller picked up his
second goal for Beverly.
The final score was 9-6 for
Beverly, which was a well-deserved
win and quite indicative of the play.
RON'S ROUND -lip After a
disappointing performance in
Beverly for game.. two, it was cer-
tainly encouraging to see the squad
rebound and perform to its ability in
game three.
A big lift for the boys was the
hometown crowd, which was
cheering from the moment the team
hit the ice until •the final whist e.
This kind of encouragement and
backing can't help but boost.. the
boys' spirits to produce a good brand
of hockey and generate a..great deal
of ' excitement and enthusiasm.
Hopefully, everyone in the com-
munity will get behind the boys in
future games.
-A rare penalty shot was awarded
in the second period to Philip Liver-
more when he was hauled down by a
Beverly defenceman on a clear
breakaway. Goaltender Davis rose
to the occasion and stopped Liver-
more when he tried to deke the puck
past him.
A serious injury occurred to
referee Mark MacKenzie with just
over two minutes left in the game
when he was struck by the puck on a
hard slapshot. The Beverly and
Howick teams would like to wish
him a speedy recovery.
Special congratulations go to Gib-
son, Henhoeffer, Greig and King as
they have received word they have
been invited to the OMHA "Under 17
Camp" at Camp Borden for tryouts
in April. From the first camp, 17
boys will be selected to attend a
second tryout at London. Everyone
wishes them well.
