Two rooms of the Hensall Con-
tinuation school will open on Sept.
8th; to teach grade B work. Two
good teachers have been engaged to
teach this work, Mr. W. Hildred,

Scarlett, of Seaforth, assistant. We
were in error last week in stating
that Mr. Fisher, of Stanley Would
be a teacher, as it was found that

Mr. Jaynes Dalrymple ntet with an
accident last week in front of G. T.
Wren's. His car headed for the ditch
and he lost control the car skidded
on two wheels for some distance and.
finally turned turtle. Mr. Dalrymple
received a baa shaking up, but was
not seriously hurt. The car was dam-
aged somewhat. and will cost from
$75 to .$100 to be fixed.

taken to the Victoria hospital, Lon-
don, is improving nicely.
There are some- large yields of
wheat in this vicinity, :1VIr. Andrew
Hicks having:. a 20 -acre field that
can 48 bushels to the acre.
Messrs. John, Frank and Elijah
Colwell, of London, their wivesand
children, and their sister, Mrs. Wh-
yte 'and ligspand, of Winnipeg, held
a'family re -union at the home of Mr.
Wm. Colwell, here, last week.
Rev. Gordon Butt, of 'Moncton,
conducted the services here last Sun-
day in the interests of the Lord's
Day Alliance. Mr. Butt spent eight
years of his boyhood, here; and his
old friends were glad , to see ,him
again,,, and his sermons 'were: much
appreciated.

CITIZEN SUCCUMBS
The large attendance at the fun-
eral of David McIntosh, V. S. which
;took place on Wednesday afternoon
;of ; last week, from the Union Pres-
byterian church, Brucefield, to
Bairdes cemetery, Stanley, testified
to the .high 'esteem in which the de-
ceased was held by the community
in which he had spent his life and
with whose interests lie had been
so, '.prominently identified. Dr. Mc-
Inntosh, who, was a . son of the late
4Johin ,McIntosh, was born on the
London road in 1841. He graduated
frons the •Ontari'o Veterinary College
at Toronto' in 1872,' and after prac-
tiding' in 'Kincardine, where he -was
married in 1873 to-, Charlotte Rat
tenburg 'daughter of the late John
Ra,tteslbui-g: The deceased; was well
and favorably known 'throughout
the county of Huron, having pract-
iced his profession in. Brucefield for
nearly half' a century. Although he
had attained the advanced age of 83
years, Dr. McIntosh was in the en=
joynent of good health' -until about
a month ago, when.; he w,as seized
with hemorrhage' of the brain, from
which he partially recovered, but;
the attack weakened his heart and
he passed away rathet unexpectedly
at his hone on Sunday afternoon.
