Pound cake, homemade or from a
mix ( baked in a bundt cake pan)
6 log or rod pretzels (7")
one-third cup semi -sweet chocolate
pieces
PA cups chocolate frosting
1 bag (12 oz.) small rod pretzels
(2%")
1 bag (12 oz.) pretzel nuggets
11/2 cups flaked coconut
Natural green food coloring
12 large gumdrops (red and orange)
1 tablespoon sugar
Marshmallow chick
1 pkg. (L5 ce.) Mini Eggs

1 Easter Bunny cookie
2 thin red licorice Strings (36"),

1. Day before: Make and bake
pound cake. To prepare handle for
basket: Lay 6 (the longest and
straightest) 7" rod pretzels on
cookie sheet, in pairs with ends lined
up evenly. Place two-thirds of
chocolate,pieces in selftsealing stor-
age *wand dip in bowl of hot water
untilchocolate softens. Knead
chocolateln one corner of bag, and
press chocolate down center of each
pair of loos to glue them together.
2. The day': Place cake on a cake
serving plate with rounded side
down (as it baked).. Spread choco-
late frosting on sides of cake. Fill
hole in center with crushed alumi-
nutn foil.

periods can offer parents valuable
insight."
Pistolesi adds that, when children
do share their thoughts about their
creations, it's important for parents
to respond positively and encourage
further discussion.
Of course, there is no universal
pattern that will ensure a child's
later success as a creative Super-
star. But, says Pistolesi, providing
children with basic supplies and ex-
posing them to new exploratory
situations will enrich their imagina
tions — and that, she says, will have
life-long benefits.
