Super X Atoms defeat
`✓Mount Forest team 7-4
Last weekend the Wingham Super
X Atoms defeated Mount Forest 7-4,
but then were stung 6-3 by Belmore
in exhibition matches.
Wingham struck early in the game
against Mount Forest when Joel
Pegg connected on a 20 -foot, shot
after Chris Patterson had set him
up. _
Mount Forest rebounded two
minutes later to tie the score.
Wingham then replied with two
goals of its own in less° than two
minutes to close out the first period.
Jamie MacKay netted both
markers, while Jason Crawford and
Pegg chalked up the assists on
MacKay's first goal and Peter Gusso
picked up the assist on the second.
Early m the middle frame, Gusso
and MacKay again combined with
Gesso firing it home. Mount Forest
closed the gap to 4-2 to round out the
second period.
In the third, MacKay notched his
third to give him the hat trick. Five
minutes later, Pegg racked up his
second goal from Patterson and
MacKay.

Belmore 6, Wingham 3 010
Belmore's Scott Smith dominated
the scoresheet as he was involved in
all six Belmore goals, netting a hat
trick and adding three assists.
Belmore built a 4.0 lead, shutting
down Wingham until Bryan deBruyn
took a nice pass from Patterson and
fired it home from the slot with only
20 seconds remaining in the second
period.
Wingham started the " third by
controlling the puck in Belmore's
end, but could not finish off. Belmore
came back down the ice and scored
to remove Wingham's chances for a
comeback.
Belmore added one more for a 6-1
lead before Pegg tapped one in after
a solo rush and then deBruyn
chipped in his secondgoal after
Patterson dug out the puck from
behind the net. Magee also added an
assist on the play.
