will spend a day learning first hand

useful items at family studies and
industrial arts classes at the F. E.

The Grade2 team . r, 1Viiss Sander-
son, was ill last week and net at
school. Mrs. Dykstra was the supply
teacher in her place. In art, the
Grade 2s made pictures or. pports
and Olympics.

Mrs. Alcock's Grade 2 students
have been having pbysical education
outside when there is snow. Last
week they had an exciting game of
Crazy Carpet Swot!, races and a
follow -the -leader. They also made
some great books for Groundhog
Day.
• Grade 3 and MrsBoatman are
doing battle With the flu virus. Many
in the room are coughing and
sneezing, while others have to stay
home m bed. We are fortunate to
have so many fine doctors in our
area as•they were being kept quite
busy.

In Mr. Fisher's Grade 3 class, they
are just finishing their final copies
on thecomputer about winter birds.
They also started -a tinaWatait with
Grade 2. Mr. Kerr and Mrs. Daer
are helping.
The Grade 2 and 3 classes are
planning a. special toboggan party
with a"' campfire lunch and are
roasting , hotdtigs to celebrate
fthishing the unit,
This' uhit includes various projects
— drama,- song and print-maldng
andreading. ,
The Grade 3s are looking forward
to taping their commercials with
their GradeT0 buddies.

Grade 4-5
Our Grade 4-5 class has been
working on a detective unit with
Mrs. Simpson, our teacher. We have
been working with a partner, trying
to solve many different crimes. We
also made up our own fictional
sleuths. We will be writing a -
mystery story about our sleuths.
We have also been studying the
goverment with Mr. Scott in social
studies.
