Mr. and Mrs. Ted McClenaghan of Kitchener visited Sunday with Miss Mildred McClenaghan. The people in the community who remember Jack Ryan of Goderich were sorry to hear of his death last week. Jack formerly operated the now -demolished E. S. Watt chopping mill in Whitechurch. Mr. and Mrs. Ryan lived in the.house now owned by Mr. and Mrs: George Lubbers and family, Visitors Sunday with Mr. and Mrs.• E. W. Beecroft were Mr. and Mrs: Archie Hertel, Mr. and Mrs. Brenden Jardine and family, Miss Karen Beecroft and friend, all of Kitchener. Mr, and Mrs. E. W. Beecroft visit- ed Tuesday with Mr, and Mrs. Stewart Forsythe of Walkerton. Mrs. Velma Falconer and Mr. and. The volleyball teams are coming along very well lately since the tournament is scheduled for Jan. 23. The class • has started selling- spices to raise money for their trip to Toronto. WHITECHURCH CLUB The girls met at thehome of their leader, Mrs. Kathleen Elliott. They opened the meeting with the 4-H pledge and answered roll call with a sewing machine review, consisting of eight questions to answer. Business was conducted and the girls decided on a book cover for their project. Each girl is making a blouse and they worked on their projects, learning how to attach a collar and yoke. They were to sew the sleeves and finish the blouse at home. Mrs. Elliott demonstrated how to slip -stitch a hem and the meeting closed with the motto. The next meeting will be held Feb. 9 at 7 p.m. at the ElliOtt home.
