Hounds close behind at 41.
Jean King had a big night, rolling
244; Muriel Irvine 213 and Florence

MON. NIGHT MEN'S
The winners of the second flight
were the Matadors, followed by the
Gophers, Boat People, Black
Machine, Stone Rollers and Volts.
Bob Hallenbeck had the high
single of 313 and the high triple of 696
was rolled by Greg Storey.

Mustang
third straight
on Fri
The F. E. Madill Mustangs won
their third straight hockey game
Friday at the Lockridge. Memorial
Arena with a 9-0 victory over Clinton
Redmen.
An outstanding offensive attack
gave the Mustangs the win as Bill
Kinahan, Tom McDonald and Steve
Thynne all had four -point games.
Dean Lindsay was extremely sharp
in the Madill net to come up with the
shutout.
The win moved Wingham into a
first-placetie with Clinton, each
having a 4-2 win -loss record in

In earlier action, Madill played
Walkerton District High School Jan.
12 and came up with a fine defensive
effort to win 8-3 and enda three -
game losing streak.
kyle Cronin led the Wingham
team with a goal and three assists.
An excellent goaltending per-
formance was shared by - Chris
Fryfogle and Dean Lindsay.
On Jan. 15 the Mustangs defeated
Exeter 6-2 as the hot Wingham team
outshot the opposition 52-15. Cronin
once again led the team 'withtwo
goals to support Fryfogle and
Lindsay.

annual Madill Invitational Hockey

9 a.m. Thursday as Wingham
squareesoff against CRAW,
The teams will play a round robin
with the top 'two teamss.playing off in
the final at 2:.30 p.M. Friday.

three victories last week
In last weekend's action, the
Wingham Super X Atoms defeated
BeIgrave 3-1 .in exhibition play,
followed that with a 2-1 victory over
Listowel and a 5-0 shutout over
Harriston on Sunday in league ac-
tion.
Last Friday evening a'strong team
effort resulted in a victory over
Belgrave.
Wingham opened . the scoring in
the first period as. Joel Pegg set up
Peter Gusso, who dented the twine
at" the half -way mark. That was the
only goal until the middle of the third
when Jamie MacKay made it 2-0 on
an unassisted effort.
Two minutes later MacKay
connected on his second unassisted
marker to snake it 3-0. With a little
over one minute remaining,
Belgrave's Mark Olson spoiled Chad
Davis' shutout bid as he made no
mistake after he retrieved the puck
from a goalrnouth scramble.
Wingham evenend up the season
series at two victories each with the
/.istowel Reds when they eked out a
2-i win.
Listawel's Dave Moss scored with
a minute remaining. In thefirst,
convertinga pass from mJason Drool.
That goal held up until early In the
fiord when Wink's Gusso tied it
up; TWO minutes later Mark Gibson
got the game winner when he
slanned one hone after some
determined forecheeking by himself
and MacKay. Gusso also earned an
assist on the play.
Davis made three good saves later
in the third period to preserve the
victory.
Wingham 5, Harriston 0
Wingham continued good fore -
checking and back -checking of the
previous two games and the result
was the shut -out over Harriston.
With one minute remaining in the
first, Chris Alexander's. hard shot
from the point found its way right
into the net to give :Wingham a 1-0
lead.
MacKay then picked up a power-
play goal as he deflected a shot from
Gusso. Three minutes later, Gusso
slipped one in after an end-to-end
rush.
In the third Mat Adams fed a nice
pass to Chris Patterson, who quickly
made it 4-0. MacKay wrapped up the
scoring as he slapped in his second
goal after a pa from Pegg.
Davis handled everything that
cane his way to pick up the shutout.
Winghai i will play an exhibition
game in town this Friday evening
against Clinton and then play in a
tournament. in Walkerton on the
weekend. ple boys also will try to fit
in a lea*** game in Harriston on
SBpurday.
