Prerequisite: Data Processing Concepts
or Equivalent.
This course will interest you if you would
like more information about Data Pro-
cessing and/or if you are thinking of en-
rolling in a programming course but
aren't sure which programming lan-
guage best suits your requirements. You
will have an opportunity to take a more
in-depth look at activities within a data
processing department. Micro, mini and
mainframe computers, data communica-
tions and current computer application
are topics which you will examine. You
will be exposed to a computer text editor
and introduced to programming lan-
guages such as RPG and COBOL. You
will be using the computer terminal to
become familiar with these languages.

ly used business -oriented programming
language. Emphasis is placed on build-
ing logic and using structured program-
ming techniques which are widely
accepted in business today. Hands-on
experience is gained through the use of
computer terminals or .microcomputers.
A minimum of 12 hours is provided dur-
