In addition, the registrant must complete Conestoga College medical forms for the RNA - Administration of Medications courses. Preference will be given to registered nursing assistants required by their em- ploying agencies to take the course. Registered Nursing Assistant - Administration Of Medications - 3050220 A This course (theory and clinical experi- ence) is intended to enable Registered Nursing Assistants to meet the min- imum competencieas in the administra- tion of medications that are outlined in the revised Standards of Nursing Prac- tice for Registered Nurses Assistants. It is aimed to meet the learning needs of Registered Nursing Assistants who have had a variety of experience. This course is composed of 52 hours of contact time. In addition to 12 weeks of classroom theory, there will be sixteen hours at the clinical agency arranged as time permits. The satisfactory completion of both will enable the RNA to meet the minimum competencies in the administration as outlined in the revised Standards of Nursing Practice for Registered Nursing Assistants. Registration must include: 1. Photocopy of your current Certificate of Competence. 2. Photocopy of the affirmation of the original course 'Drug Therapy and Nursing Implications in Long Term Care for RNA's': 3. Completion of Conestoga College medical forms for the RNA - Admins- tration of Medications (clinical). Note: Acceptance into the course will not be granted until the medical forrrls are completed. This course will enable the Registered Nursing Assistant to meet the minimum competencies in surgical asepsis as out- lined in the revised Standards of Nursing Practice for Registered Nurses and Reg- istered Nursing Assistants. Mental Health/Psychiatric Nursing For Registered Nursing Assistants - Module I - 3050250 A This module is designed to introduce the Registered Nursing Assistant to the vari- ous introductory concepts related to Psychiatric Nursing and the application of such concepts to the role of the Nurs- ing Assistant as a participant in the nurs- ing process. It also includes community resources, le- gal implications, and societal influences.
