A former resident of
Wingham, Wayne Elwood
Nicol of 10 Welbeck Dr.,
Brampton, passed ,away
suddenly at South Peel
Memorial Hospital on
November 1 in his 94th year.
Mr. 'Nicol was born in
Newmarket and came to
Wingham-..when—h_e_ was
young with his late parents,
James Elwood Nicol and
Annie ' Walters. He was
educated in Wingham arid
had worked for Canadian
National Railway all his
adult life. He was a member,
of St. Paul's United Church
and was active in Brampton
Minor Hockey, lacrosse and
the Kiwanis Club.
In 1962 he married the
former Shirley Moore of
Wingham • in the Wingham
United Church. She Survives
to mourn his passing, with
their family, James, Susan,
John and Andrew, all at
home. He is also survived by
one brother, Allen of New
Brunswick, and one sister,
Mrs. Lynn (Noreen) Fin-
nigan,of Pickering.
"Funeral service was held
Monday, November 4, at 1:30
at the Ward Funeral Home,
Brampton, with interment
following in Meadow
Cemetery.
Pallbearers were William
Henry, John McCue, Terry
Owan, Hugh Chamney, John
Jefferson and Dennis
Melnyk.

The family of the late
Florence Walker wish to sin-
cerely express their thanks
to friends and neighbors for
floral tributes and expres-
sions of sympat r in the re-
cent loss of our dear wife,
mother, grandmother and
great-grandmother. Our
thanks are most inadequate
for all of the kindnesses
shown during her illnesses,
especially day and night
nursing staff on second floor
of the Wingham and District
Hospital. They could not
have been kinder. We must
not, in expressing our
thanks, forget our doctors,
Dr. Ping and Dr. Long who
untiringly attended her in
her need. There are others
who also expressed their
condolences in service; as
U.C.W. Ladies of the Wing -
ham United Church for lunch
served; Comrades of the
Walkerton Legion who
travelled from Walkerton;
immediate neighbors who
assisted at the gathering of
members of the family at
home of son George after the
funeral; the beautiful serv-
ice of the,McBurney Funeral
Home and last but not least
the beautiful words spoken

for, the late Gordon Wesley
Barger Sr. of Lucknow, who
passed away Wednesday,
Nov. 6, at the Wingham and
District Hospital in his 81st
year.
Born June 21, 1905, to the
late John Barger and
Margaret Glazier, Mr.
Barger was raised in Vaughn
Township, Yolk County. He
married his wife, the former
Catherine Glazier, on Dec.
27, 1938, and they farmed in
Ashfield Township until
retiring to Lucknow in 1969.
The late Mr. Barger is
survived by two daughters,
Joan Purdy at Dublin and
Mary Kieffer, Bluevale; five
sons, Gordon Jr. of Ashfield
Township, Bill of Hanover,
Ken of Toronto, Herb of
Hanover and Richard of
Kincardine; 16 grand-
children and one sister,
Pearl Bradley of Toronto.
He was predeceased by
one grandchild, one
daugh,ter-in-law, two sisters
and three brothers.
Rev. Allison Ramsay
conducted the funeral ser-
vice. Active pallbearers
were his five sons and one
son-in-law, Ron Kieffer.
Carrying floral tributes were
Lisa Barger, Michelle
Barger, Kirk Purdy, Bob
Barger, Anna Barger and •
Melissa Kieffer, all grand-
children. Interment Green-
hill Cemetery, Lucknow: The
MacKenzie -McCreath Fu-
neral Home, Lucknow, was
entrusted with the funeral
arrangements.
