DEATHS BAKER—Passed away at K- W Hospital on Saturday, November 9, after a long struggle with illness, Mrs. Olive Baker of 407 St. Leger St., Kitchener, formerly of Wingham, in her 66th year. Born in Dundee, Scotland, Mrs. Baker was a member of St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church. She was the wife of the late Jack E. Baker; mother of Ronald A. and Stephen G., both of Kit- chener, Judith P. Smith of Brussels and Valerie A. of. Waterloo; sister of Clement Alexander and Mrs. Peggy Alderman, both of Cambridge. Also surviving are six grand- children. Funeral service was held Tuesday at the Edward R. Good Funeral Home, Waterloo, with committal service in Parkview Chapel, Water- loo. Cremation followed. Memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy. STE. MARIE—Passed away at County of Bruce Gen- eral Hospital, Walkerton_ on Monday, Nov. 11, Austin Ste. .Marie of Mildmay in his 87th year. He was a resident of Wingham for 30 years. Harding dies following br1ef illness Following a -brief illness, Mrs. Norman Harding of Geri -Care, Harriston, for- merly of Fordwich, passed away Saturday, November 9, at Palmerston and District Hospital. She was in her 91st year. The former Janet Maretta Doubledee, Mrs. Harding was born in Howick Town- ship on April 18, 1895, a daughter of the .late George Doubledee and Sarah Halliday. She received her education at Lane's School and worked as a seamstress. On March 1, 1922, she. married Mr. Harding and they . farmed in Howick for many years before retiring to Fordwich about 1970. She was bereaved by the death of her life partner in April of 1977. Beloved husband of the former Margaret Peifer. Grandfather of Jennifer, Andrea and Raymond. Also survived. by three brothers in Germany. Predeceased by his son, Raymond, in 1977. Interment Wingham Cemetery. SNELL—Passed away at the Wingham and District Hospital on Monday, Nov. 11, Mary Smith Miller Snell, wife of the late John A. Snell and her first husband, John M. Miller of Brussels, in her 89th year. Survived by two daughters, Mrs. John (Margaret) Cruickshank of Wingham and Mrs. Freeman (Isobel) Dickie of London; four grandchil- dren and tWo great -grand- children. -Predeceased by one brother, Tom Smith. Mrs. Snell will rest at the Brussels chapel of the M. L. Watts Funeral Homes on Wednesday, where a private funeral service will be held Thursday. Interment 1 Wroxeter Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to the Wingham and District Hospital. Harding was a member of the Fordwich United Church and had belonged to the United Church Women. Left to mourn her passing are four daughters, Mrs. Jean Wilson of Fordwich, Mrs. Robert (Margaret) Wood, RR 1, Clifford, Mrs. Oliver (Elsie) Karges, Listowel, and Mrs. John (Reita) Markovich of Edmonton; one son, Elmer of RR 1, Gorrie; 19 grand- children and 17 great- grandchildren. There is one sister, Mrs. John (Lena) Nairee of Toronto. She was predeceased by two sisters and one brother. The late Mrs. Norman Harding rested at the Gorrie Chapel of M. L. Watts Funeral Homes where friends paid their respects until. Monday at two o'clock when complete funeral and committal service was conducted by Rev. Cy Marzec. Her final resting place will be Fordwich Cemetery.
