Anthony Summers has come up with startling new evidence that is said to be the most care - .fully researched information ever written about the super- star, and there has been plenty written in the past 20 years. Television documentaries have followed closely on t heels of the book. An American -produced special was to have been seen last week in the U.S. but was cancelled. But on CTV, a special produced in Britain was shown, using evidence from many of the people closely involved in the case and unique shadow dramatizations of the last hours in Monroe's life and the people known to have been the last to see her alive. it brought back many haunting memories and left many questions in the minds of the viewers. In fact, the hook itself has raised so many questions that •the entire case may be re- opened. Perhaps the most shocking evidence to come out of the book--,a-Hifi- dr-a-m-a-l-ized i n the - television special, is the star's relationship with President John F. Kennedy and his brother, Robert. Though the stories have been suggested many times, never before has the proof been so overwhelming. Summers suggests stories of Monroe's death were covered up by authorities in order to protect the Ken- nedys,; that, in fact,' her death was announced as taking place several hours later than it actually did, so Bobby Kennedy could "get out of town" and escape incrimination. There is also question of where death occurred. Though stories said she died at home, he ambulance attendants to have removed her from the home alive and.taken her • to the hospital where she died. Persons unknown are then claimed to have returned •her body to her home to make it appear as though she died in her own bed. Disturbing stories about associations with the Mafia, infamous gangsters and seedy characters that had every word and action taped, can only arouse more sympathy for this naive, lonely, disturbed person, a child within a woman's body, beautiful, famous, rich, the envy of many women. One can wish that people would allow her to rest in peace, since all the major people involved in this sordid story can no longer tell their stones. Yet, it is not easy to ignore or forget the words of a member of the police department at the time she died: "Marilyn Monroe did NOT kill herself; she was mu`r`dered!
