Bronson Line, Hay township, on Fri-
day, May 29th, Mr. Nicholas Kennel,
aged 65 years, 9 months and 6 days.
He has been a sufferer from asthma
for a number of years. Deceased,
was well and favorably known in
these parts, was born at Agatha,
Waterloo County, and has been a
resident of Hay Township for some
thirty years. Iie is survived beside
his sorrowing widow by 10 children
8 daughters'and two sons, also one
sister. The funeral took place to
the Oafish cemetery, Bronson; -Line.

horse owned by Mr, Henry W. Plod
gins, passed in his checks on tliurs
day ,of last week. This good ` of
piece of horse flesh has a history and

record. He was at one time a eon

ing his older years was an excellent
driver, being faithful and gentle.
He had reached the great age of 27
years.

Anglican churches, underwent a sur-
gical operation in Toronto Hospital
last week for the removal of a large,,
tumor. The operation was a success
and the patient is doing as well as
can be expected.

A SURPRISE—Mr, Harvey Hod-
gins, of the th concession essiou was most
pleasantly `surprised one day last
week, which promises to enhanch his
bank account to a great extent. He
had Harnessed his team and was a-
bout to plow a Sive-acre field of very

surprise on sticking the plow into

FUNERAL OF MRS. ALDSWORTJJ
Several from this community at-
tended ' the funeral of the late Mrs.
Lewis Aldsworth, of Goderich Tp. on
Thursday of last week. The deceas-
ed had been ailing for a long
time. Mrs. Aldsworth, whose maid-
en name was Elizabeth McDonald,
was born in Hay Tp. sixty-three years
ago, coming : to Goderich Tp: after
her marriage to ,'Mr, Aldsworth in
1581, since which time. she had lived
at -their home on „the Bayfield road,
two and a half miles north 'et Bay-
field. Besides her husband, slie leav-
es two sons and four daughters: J.

Death. of Mrs. Statton.—Ther e{
died here on May 2Sth, Mary, belov-
ed
elowed wife of Joseph Oliver, at the age
of 53 years. Deceased` had :.leen i11
only a;few days of pneumonia. Al-
though not being: well for a number
of years, being troubled with a weak
heart, her death came as a shock to
her friends and relatives. Besides
her husband, slie is survived by two
daughters; also five sisters and
three "brother4. Her father, . John
Statton died here on April 30. Her
remains were interred in the ceme-
teryhere on Friday, the funeral be-
ing largely attended. The bereaved
have the sympathy of the commune
