a duet by the Misses Margaret and
Louise Drummond added to the pro-
gram.
The play "Martha Made Over" was
given to a large audience in the
Methodist church on Tuesday even-
ing by,•the Young People's Society of
Winthrop. The play was in 4 acts
and described• the making oyer of a
housewife who was so ,intent upon
thecondition of things in. her home
that she forgot all about the outside
world and from • overwork,' suffered
a nervous breakdown. During, her
recovery she . had time to think of
the problem from all its angles and
decided to not be so particular a-
bout household ditties: and give more
of her time to' enjoying the good
things of life. ` The play was well
enacted' and was' -mixed with:humor-
ous happenings"which},,;kept 'the large
audience in continuo1 goocl•.humor..
Selos, readings and Inane duets were
features much enaayed between acts.
Lunch was served by the ladies of
the church to tie players: after the
entertainnzent. a
•--Every man gets the experience but
only a few gain ,the wisdom ,to make
it,spay.

swamp on the Zurich road, when a

The regular meeting of the .Coun-
cil of the Tp. of Hay, was held in
the Town Hall, Zurich, on Monday,
May 5th. .All members were`p "res-
