Mr. Wilfred 'Johns underwent an
operation for mastoids in Victoria
Hospital, London, last; week and we
are pleased to; report that he is pro-
gressing favorably, although the op-
eration was a very serious one. ' He.
was visited during the week by his
parents, Mr. and Mrs. .Ioslnia` Johns
and -his sister -Miss Alma.

The neighbors gathered' at Everett
Skinner's on Friday afternoon last
and had a very successful wood -bee

Monday afternoon.
The roads ax•e pretty muddy and
soft at present although everyone is
glad to see the end of the snow
banks.
Some of the farmers have been
busy at syrup making which is very
good but will not likely last much
longer.
Mr, Robt, Wilcox Sr., passed away
at his home here ou Sunday night
after -being partially Helpless for
about 13 years, !laving 'suffered 'a
paralytic stroke which left him an
invalid, but he has gradually been
growing weaker for some time back.
The sympathy of the community is
extended to the bereaved.
On Monday .afternoon ttvo dozen
neighbors gathered at the bushon
the farm of Joshua Johns and cut
enough wood to keep `the house
warm for a year. Their sympathy
had been stirred because the family
have 'lead 00 much 'richness in recent
years. This is one of „the acts which
shows, that while this old world inay
be full of trouble, it 10 lust as full
01 kindness, which is a manifestation
of love, that mighty force which a-
lone can save the world. One .very

the presence of the pastor, who did

Miss Ernxa Neeb has returned
home after being at DanFinkbein-
er's for a time. We hope she en-
joyed her stay in this neighborhood.
The people of this line must be a-
fraid of vaccination as very few have
had it done yet, or are they coura-
geous and not afraid of small pox.
Mr. and Mrs. Dan Finkbein'er are
all smiles now. They are so proud
of their three sons.
