Local pro-life group
opposes clinic operation
Members of the Wingham
and area pro-life group still
are traveling regularly to
Toronto to protest the con-
tinued operation of the
Morgentaler abortion clinic.
During the recent
provincial election cam-
paign the national pro-life
organization, Campaign
Life, conducted a survey of
the candidates' positions on
the issue of' abortion clinics.
The questionnaire asked
each candidate: "Are you
opposed to the establishment
of Morgentaler abortion
clinics throughout Ontario?"
Campaign Life reports
that of 217 candidates can-
vassed, 179 said they were
opposed to the clinics.
"The results of this sur-
vey," said Campaign Life
President Jim Hughes,
"show that the over-
whelming majority of On-
tarians are opposed .to
abortion -on -demand and to
abortion clinics." This in
conformity with recent polls,
both Canadian and
American.
Approximately 150 people
attended last month's

dinner ' at St. Andrew's.

Hughes spoke at the meet-
