The Willing Workers' Mission Cir-
cle of James St. church will hold a
Bazaar on Saturday, 'March 15.
To -day isAth Wednesday and the
beginning of Lent. Tuesday was
Shrove Tuesday or pancake day.

turned to town and has resumed her
position as milliner with Miss
Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Dignan, who
have spent the past two weeks in
Toronto, returned home on Monday
evening.
Lenten services will be held in
Trivitt Memorial parish hall each
Wednesday evening during the sea-
son of Lent.
Mr. R. N. Rowe, who has been ill
was taken to Victoria Hospital, Lon-
don, on Monday, where he will un-
dergo an operation.
The Ladies' Guild of Trivitt Mem-
orial church served a pancake sup-
per in the sample rooms of the Cen-
tral Hotel.on. Saturday evening.
Mr. Donald Snell, of Dutton,•is vis-
iting with his aunt, Mrs. W. Snell, in
town. He sang two very pleasing
solos at Janies St. Church on Sunday
last.
Reeve Wm. Coates, of Usborne,
was in Toronto last' week attending
a convention on good roads, as a
representative of Huron County
council.
The local sports were out after
jack rabbits again on Monday, when
three more rabbits fell a prey to the
skilful shooting of Messrs. Harry
Sweet, Win. Snell and Geo. Snell.
It was reported' in The Times last
week that Mr. E. Davies, of the Dom-
inion Stores
om-inion.Stores was being transferred to
London, but we understand the ar-
rangements have been changed.
Mr. Wm. Forbes and daughter,
Miss Marie Forbes, of London, were
tlie guests of Mr. and Mrs. Thos.
Pryde on Tuesday and assisted with
the program in Cavell church Tues-
day evening.
Messrs. lI. Smith and, A. W. Eth-
erington shipped some of their Dur-
ham Shorthorns to the Consignment
sale at Wingham, last Week. A cow
belonging to Mr. Etherington, Miss
Ramsden, of .Springbank, , brought
the highest price at the sale, $165.00
and was " sold to Fred Hardy, of
Wingbam; Scarlet Velvet, a 13
months'; bull Belonging to Mr. H.
Smith reliazed $132,50. Oscar Klopp
of Hay, sold a ton months' heifer,
Lavander Martha 2nd, for $67.50.
On Monday, March 3rd, the hours
of. Mr. and Mrs, R. Skinner was the
scene of a very happy gathering of
relatives and friends, it being the
80th birthday of Mrs. Skinner's mo-
ther; Mrs. Ilodgson. Dinner was ser-
ved at 12.30 o'clock after which all
joined in old time songs and stories:
,of bygone days. Greetings were re-
ceived by wire from her sons in the
West,also her d:au,Izter, Mrs. I'7etr-
welling, Mirror, Alta. Guests were
present from Loudon, Granton,
Whalen, Centralia "alia and .161itnville, to
