DEATH OF THOMAS LAWSON
,. These passed away at the home of
1\fr, and Mrs.' `Jeseph Brolcenshire,
Windsor, on Sunday, Feb. 17th, a
former well known and much esteem-
ed resident of Crediton, in the person
of Mr. Thomas Lawson, at the age of
57 'years and twadnonths. The de-
ceased had been in tailing health for
about a year, but had been up and a-
round untila short time previous to.

Son of the late John and Mrs. Law-

son. His early life was ,spent in Ste-
phen Tp., but about twenty years ago
he moved to Detroit where he resid-

twice married, his first wife being

ed, together with his mother, four

Sask.; Mrs. Thomas , Edwards, of
Windfall. Ind.; Mrs. Henry' Orleinan,

Mr. -Lawson had one son, Sergeant
Percy Lawson, who was killed at
Vimy Ridge, 'France in the World
War. The funeral took place from
the home of Inc mother. on Wednes-
day of last week, to the Exeter cem-
etery.

section is trying to outdo the other
in the results achieved. Tuesday

genuine old-fashioned oyster supper
and concert. Oysters were served
galore and a supper of prodigious
quantity and unlimited variety greet-
ed the hundreds of hungry enthusi-
asts -who arrived. A, fine program of
local talent was supplemented by the
popular lecture "Marriage, The
Pike's Peak of Success" by Rev. W.
E. Donnelly, of James St. Church,
Exeter. The next event will be , a
pancake sodial put oh by the Fair-
field group- next Tuesday night.

During the severe storm of last
Week and .the bad condition of the
reads, .Miss Florence Turnbull, tea-
cher at Kiva school, attempted to
cross, the fields and on her waybe-
came entangled in the. wire fence of
which she was unable to free herself
and was almost exhausted ewhen the
caretaker of the school happened
that way and extricated her, sending
her on, her way rejoicing.
