Healing With Herbs N
• This brief course outlines the philoso-
phy, history and use of herbal remedies
in healing. If weather permits there will
be a brief excursion into the field to
identify and locate herbs suitable for
use in natural first aid and natural
treatment of corrirnon ailments. In addi-
tion participants will learn how to
prepare infusions, extracts and oint-
ments and other ways to 'use familiar.

Herb Luncheon S
Rachel McLeod of KILN FARM will
discuss growing herbs at home and
preserving them for winter use. After a
tour of the herb garden, you will enjoy
a. lunch. of soups, salads,' breads and
desserts demonstrating , the use of
herbs in cooking. A walk -on the trails to
identify wild plants which are used as f
herbs or as food will make the day
complete.

Old Fashioned And Unusual

commonly used as the culinary herbs
but are full of interest! What is Good

unusual herbs will be on display.

Oriental Cooking S
This course will familiarize students
with Chinese culinary art including
many exotic ingredients, and authentic
•Chinese equipment. Students will learn
to make' spring rolls, wonton, sweet
and sour chicken, barbecued pork,
tempura, Szechuan hot and sour soup,
fried rice, Moo Goo Guy Pan, Tai Dop
Voy and many more mouth watering
dishes.'

Creative Photography S
Prerequisite. Advanced Photography or
permission of instructor
To become a competent photographer
one has to understand the photographic
process and be confident in operating
the camera.
The next step is the creative aspect. The
creation of pictures and images is limited
only by the imagination of the photogra-
pher.
This course will provide instruction and

tion, photographic design, and the
effective use of lighting. Colour theory
and its practical applications will also be
explored.
Colour printing by the Ektaflex Process
will be demonstrated •and some practical
experience will be offered at the Doon
Campus. •

Advanced Photography S
Prerequisite: Photography - The Basics
This course will provide students with an
opportunity to learn and practice ad-
vanced techniques. The course includes
practical assignments and critiquing
sessions. Demonstrations by the in-
structor and practice in class will help
students understand the operation of
their equipment. Students should bring a
35 min - camera (filters optional) with
manually adjustable aperture and shut-
ter speeds.

Photography - The Basics - S
This course is for those who know very
little about Photography. The objective is
to provide the students with an under-.
standing of their cameras. Practical
demonstrations and review of student
photographs are included. Students will
learn how to load the. camera, identify
and operate\ parts of the camera „and
choose and create better pictures. It is
advisable to bring a 35 mm camera to
class. •
