This is a• practical course in Finish

In this hands-on shop course, students

Plumbing For The Householder, S,
Topics include: the use of metal and
plastic pipes, how pumps and hot water
tanks work, repairing taps, soldering
and threading pipes. The objective of
this course is to eliminate unnecessary
repair costs. and to have the homeowner
prepared in case of emergencies.

Chicken -Scratch Embroidery N
Learn the art of Chicken -Scratch em-
broidery. Chicken -Scratch embroidery
-Ts "worked on gingham and gives the
appearance of handwoven lace. It is
often used in a decorative manner on
borders and hems. A small gift can
easily be made from the sample you
will make in class.

Contemporary Tailoring
Techniques $
A quick method of tailoring which
involves the use of fusible interfacing
and machine stitching to build shape
into ' a garment. Topics include selec-
tion of fabric and interfacing, use of
stay tape, techniques for collars,
lapels, set -In sleeves and patch pock-
et's. Students should have completed
an intermediate sewing course- or have
equivalent experience.

Duvet Workshop
$
A 3 -hour mini -course on the special
techniques needed for making Europe-
an -style duvets. Topics include selec-
tion of materials, measuring, baffling -
and demonstration of filling. The teach-
er will also discuss the making of duvet
covers and the care of a finished duvet.

Knitting $
From beginner basics to advanced
knitting techniques. Students will work
sample stitches in class and novelty
