Computer Programming With
BASIC Language 10 A
You will use the computer in a useful
simulation of a real-world task. For
example, advanced programming tech-
niques will be used to produce a
system of integrated programs which
perform the operations of a basic
inventory system. Upon successful
completion of the course you will be
able to write, debug and demonstrate
the use of a system of programs based
on concepts studied.

Computer Programming With
PASCAL I A
Prerequisite: Data Processing Concepts
or Equivalent.
A non -mathematical introduction to pro-
gramming with PASCAL. Topics include
preparation of programs; data; arithme-
tic in PASCAL; extended arithmetic
with built-in functions; introduction to
Input/Output operations; decision and
control structures; cyclic process.

COBOL Programming 1 A
Prerequisite; Data Processing Concepts
or Equivalent.
You will be introduced to computer
programming using COBOL which is a
widely used business -oriented pro-
gramming language. 'Emphasis is
placed on building logic and using
structured prograing techniques
which are widely accepted in business
to -day. Hands-on experience is gained
through the use of computer terminals
or microcomputers. A minimum of 12
hours is provided during class hours
and students may have access to
machines at specified times outside of
class.

COBOL Programming II • A
COBOL II will deal with advanced
features of the COBOL programming
language. Structured methods will once
again be emphasized. The prerequisite.
is COBOL I or equivalent.

RPG Programming 1 A
Prerequisite: Data Processing Concepts
or Equivalent.
You will use RPG Programming lan-
guage to develop report -oriented pro-
grams. You will gain an understanding
of the RPG logic cycle and its effect on
program results. Topics include data
definition, con:)rol level breaks. tables,
and report fori'hating. Hands-on experi-
ence is gained through the use of the
computer terminals. A minimum of 12
hours is provided during class hours
and students may have access to
machines at specified times outside of
class.

RPG Programming 11 A
Prerequisite: Completed RPG I or un-
derstand RPG Program Language.
Through topics such' as multiple files
processing, matching records, array
and exception time execution, students
will be able to produce and manipulate
complicated* real world reports and
data files. Indexed file processing
method and chain operation will be
utilized through illustration of batch
program which will lead to the discus-
sions of RPG on-line programming
method. A minimum of 15 computer
hours provided during class.

TRAVEL CONSULTANT
Travel Consultant I
(Destinations A) A
This is the first of a series of four
courses to prepare travel practitioners
for the junior examinations of the
Canadian Institute of Travel Counsellors
Incorporated. The Institute also re-
quires three years work experience to
qualify for its Junior Certificate. These
courses present a broad spectrum of
information in a short time span and
will assist those presently employed in
the industry. However, the first. basic
course will also be of value to travellers
who would like to know more about
travel destinations, and methods of
travel and accommodation.

The Ontario Management Development
Program at Conestoga College offers
education in. management and supervi-
sory skills. The objective of courses and
seminars in the program is to provide
managers and supervisors with practical
skills and knowledge which will improve
their ability to effectively utilize financial,
marketing, production and human re-
sources.
Each semester the College offers an
appropriate selection of courses.
NOT ALL COURSES ARE REPEATED
EACH SEMESTER.

approach, participants are encouraged.
