Typing - Keyboard Skills A
This is a course for those who wish to
.familiarize themselves with the typewrit-
er keyboard in order to be able to
operate computers.
Upon successful completion of this
course, the student will be able to
identify and adjust the commonly used
typewriter controls, type by touch, from
straight copy at a consistent typing
speed of 30 words per minute as
specified and be familiar with applica-
tions of the non -alphabetic characters
on the keyboard.

Data Processing Concepts A
If you know little about computers and
simply want to become computer "liter-.
ate" or if you want to' gain the
background knowledge you will .need to
be successful in a computer program-
ming course, then this is the course for
you. You will study the history, compo-
nents, function and. application of com-
puters in today's business. Other topics
include software, programming lan-
guages and operating environments.
You will have an opportunity to use a
computer terminal to develop simple
programs related to the concepts you
have studied. Upon completion, in
•addition to having an understanding of
computers, the terminology related to
them and how they work, you will
understand more fully the activities,
machinery and personnel found. in a
data processing department. You will
be well prepared to pursue program-
ming courses, if desired.

This course is intended to teach the
BASIC language in the context of
personal and practical real life situa-
bons. The approach is pimple and well
suited to those. who have no previous
experience with microcomputers. It is
designed for adults, and their children
(8 years or older) who possess self-mo-
-tivation and good logical thinking skills.

Systems Analysis And Design A.
Prerequisite: Some knowledge of Data
Processing Terminology.
This course teaches Systems Analysis
and Design using the tools and theories
of STRUCTURED ANALYSIS.
Individuals 'currently employed in Data
Processing who wish to develop their
Systems Analysis and Design skills as
well as ANYONE who will be participat-
ing in the design and development of a
system will benefit from this, course.
The successful student will be able to
define and communicate the require-
ments of a system, translate that
requirement into a design and then
implement that design using a top-
down, iterative approach.

BASIC Language I A
Prerequisite: Data Processing Concepts
or Equivalent.
You will learn to program a computer
using the Basic Programming Lan-
guage. You will be able to create, alter,
and run a program of medium complex-
ity using many of the more simple
commands. -Hands-.on experience is
gained through the use of microcom-
puters. A minimum of tw' lve hours is
provided during class hours and stu-
dents may have access to machines at
specified times outside of class. A more
advanced course is available in Com-
puter Programming With BASIC Lan-
guage 11.

With BASIC Language I or Equivalent.
Persons who have not completed Com-
puter Programming With BASIC Lan-
guage I may be required by the teacher
to demonstrate that they have the
prerequisite knowledge to be success-
ful in Computer Programming With -
BASIC Language 11. •
This course is intended to continue
where Computer Programming With
BASIC Language I leaves off. Emphasis
is on Program structure and technique.
You will be exposed to more advanced
topics including elementary knowledge
of files and matrices. Hands-on experi-
ence is gained through the use of
microcomputers. A minimum of 24
hours is provided during class hours
and students may have access to
machines at times specified outside of
class.
