OBJECTIVES OF THE FUND •

How investment income is taxed
Chart shows the effective tax rate in percentage terms on cash dividends, capital gains and interest for peo-
ple in various tax brackets. A negative rale indicates that the receipt of cash dividends actualty reduces tax
payable on other income. The figures are for Ontario. A. provincial surtax that was scheduled to be phased'
out Dec. 31. 1984. is included pending the spring budget. -
