into the lake and at first it was
thought Mr. Turnbull had possibly
beennon the ice and, carried out with
it. Another theory is that he met
his death by falling into, the lake.
Search parties •hair° been trying to
locate the remains but up to going to
press have met with no results. Mr.
Turnbull is highly respected in the
community and his disappearance is
believed to be the result of an acci-
dent as no reason ean be attribnted
for any rash act. on his part.

Dr. Bennett, Pres: of the St. Thom-
as I-Iorticultural Society, will deliver
an address on "Roses and Gladioli"
in the ToWn Hall, on Wednesday,
Feb'y 13th, at 8 p.m., under the aus-
- pices of the Exeter Horticultural
Flower lovers will remember
the interesting illustrated address
given by Dr. Bennett last year. Next
Wednesday he will have a new set of
beautiful slides that every flower

On Saturday- evening while Harold
Penhale was driving with a cutter
ont of the James St, church shed, the
horse becanae unmanageable. It ran
across the street and the cutter
struck agaipst the wall 'of file house
on the corner. Later the cutter col-
lided ivith a hydro pole and the horse
freed itself, 'It was caught at the
roar of Mr. N. Slreere's .The
cutter was somewhat damaged but

IN INTEREST •
The campaign of„ revival meetings
under the anspices of Main St. and
Jellies 81. Churches, is being contin-
ued witli growing interest and bless-
ing. A new departure is the busy'
men's m"aver meeting cactt morning
at 10 o'clock, which is 'being largely
attended. 'the services this' week
are being carried on each night at
7,45 in Tames St. Church. This gen-
uine soul -awakening campaign chal-
lenges the whole conininnity to share
the • blessing of its spiritual "uplift.
Last Sunday was a real red Tatter day
