A. strong east wind was blowing all ,day and during the evening had carried the ice out into the lake and at first it was thought Mr. Turnbull had possibly beennon the ice and, carried out with it. Another theory is that he met his death by falling into, the lake. Search parties •hair° been trying to locate the remains but up to going to press have met with no results. Mr. Turnbull is highly respected in the community and his disappearance is believed to be the result of an acci- dent as no reason ean be attribnted for any rash act. on his part.
