Mr. and Mrs. Ken Ritchie
ofSaudi Arabia spent a week
with his parents, Mr. and
:Mrs.. Jack Ritchie of
Brussels, enroute to
Australia where they will
spend Christmas. Mr. Rit-
chie has ' been in Saudi
Arabia for three years and
four months and the couple
will be moving to London this
spring where he will be
employed.
Last Saturday evening the
IOOF held its annual
Christmas dance. Prizes for
the. spot dances went to Mr'.
' and Mrs. Norm Jarvis of RR
3, Goderich, Mrs. Doris
Fischer of Brussels and
Harvey Smith of RR 3,
Brussels. The evening closed
with lunch.
During the Sunday mor-
ning service at Melville
Presbyterian Church, a new
communion set was dedicat-
ed in memory of . Mr. and
Mrs. John Spier by their
family members, Helen
Graver, Margaret Johns,
Kenneth Spier and Laura
Standish.

BRUSSELS — The Majes-
tic Women's Institute held its
Christmas meeting in the li-
brary recently, beginning
with a potluck dinner. There
were 33 present and Marie
McCutcheon, Iona Moore
and Freda Pipe ..were in
charge.
Get -well cards were signed
and sent to three members
who are in hospital, Jessie
Engel, lona Moore and Lula
Kerr.. Isabel Adams and
Bernice MacFarlane looked
after the gift exchange. The
afghantickets realized
$176.85 and the bazaar
$291.85.
The next euchre party will
be held Jan. 7 at 8 p.m. The
committee in charge of the
card party is Eleanor
Hemingway, Retta Hoover,
Marguerite Krauter, Laura
Lucas and Alice McArter.
Letters of thanks from
Kathleen Semple and the
Arthritis Society were read.
The roll call was answered
with donations to the box for
shut-ins. These boxes were
packed Monday. The mem-
bers are to quilt•a quilt early
in January.

were written by Mrs. Moore.

winter meetings in the af-
ternoon at 2. The meeting
closed with "God Save the
Queen".
