THE CHRISTMAS CUTIES were only one of the groups
to take .to the .Ice at the Belmore "Magic of Christmas"
skating carnival on Saturday night. Members of this
group (not all are shown) included Jennifer Haelzle.

BELMORE— With Christ-
mas lights glowing and beau-
tiful snowflakes floating in
the air, the ice stage was set
for the local figure skating
club's presentation of "The
Magic of Christmas" last
Saturday evening.
The large crowd enjoyed
the various presentations
with characters ranging
from Christmas angels to all
kinds of Christmas goodies
such as jelly beans, gum-
drops and peppermint candy
canes. Club soloists included
Michelle Eadie, Janice and
Susan Wilhelm, Paula
Rutherford and Linda
Wilson.
Kerrie Shepherd and Peter
MacDonald, guest skaters
from the Brussels and Blyth
clubs, added to the en-
joyment of the evening as
both presented free -skate
solos and a dance pair
exhibition.
Jim McKague was the
emcee for the evening.

and Phyllis Hammell,
carnival coordinators, for an
excellent behind-tJie-scenes
job on costuming, ad-
vertising and decorating:

family to celebrate the
Ritchie Christmas were Mr.
and Mrs. John Ritchie of
Brussels, Mr. and Mrs. Bob.
Ritchie of Brantford and Mr.
and 'Mrs. Keit Ritchie, for-
merly of Saudi Arabia.
Mr. and Mrs. Don Eadie
and family spent Sunday
with Mr. and Mrs. Norman
Hoover of Brussels and other
members of the family for a
Christmas get-together.
The Bruce Brick and Tile
company of Teeswater held
a Christmas party at the
community centre last
Friday evening. The .night
started with a dinnerior 250,
followed by entertainment
and dancing. The meal was
catered to by the Howick and
Carrick groups, convened by
Ellen Harkness, Florence
Dickson,.Mary Renwick and
Sally Harper.
White gift services were
held Sunday at Macintosh
United Church. Roy
Douglas, Sunday School
superintendent, was in
charge of the service in
which members of the
Sunday School took part.
Rev. Knock delivered a brief
message. Special musical
selections were performed
by the Mari -Bel Choir, under
the direction of Marie
Douglas and the junior choir.
Steven Johann is home.
from Saskatoon for the
Christmas holiday to stay
with his mother, Mrs. Eileen
Johann.
The annual Brussels'
Livestock's Men's Bonspiel
was held last Wednesday in
the curling rink with eight
rinks taking part. Winners of
the, nine'o'clock draw and the
overall trophy were Ian,
Allan and Andy Grant and
George Fischer. The rink of
Alex Graham, Murray
McKague., Eddie Hoffman
and Ken Bray took the 11
o'clock draw. Club members
should keep in mind the Gay
Lea Mixed Competition to be
held the weekend of Feb. 2.
They are asked to let the club
executive know if they will
be attending.
A large crowd attended the
Presbyterian Church Sunday
School concert held Sunday
evening. The Christmas
story was acted out by all the
children of the Sunday
School. Slides of church
activities over the past year
were shown. After the
candies and gifts were
handed out, refreshments
wereenjoyed.
Doreen Nickel off Weyburn,
Sask., is holidaying with
friends and relatives in the
area.

and your 1985 Municipal and School Taxes
Regional Offices located throughout Ontario are responsible for assessing all real
property for the purposes of municipal and school taxation.
The resulting Assessment Rolls are delivered to municipalities which use ther}rt to set
their mill rates and compute municipal property tax bills.
The amount of property tax you pay on your home or business depends on the
assessed value and the mill rate set by your municipality. The assessed value multiplied
by the mill rate will determine your 1985 property taxes.
Appeal Procedure
It, after attending your local Open House, you are still
dissatisfied with your assessment, you have a right to
appeal It 10 the Assessment Review Board. The
Assessment Review Board conducts informal hearings

assessments of similar properties in the vicinity or
neighbourhood, and may alter your assessment
accordingly.
Appeal Deadline
The final date for appealing your assessment is
January 9, 1985.

of Appeal Form or as a letter, to the Regional Registrar
of the Assessment Review Board on or before January 9,

your property assessment and Is authorized to amend
any Information as may be necessary prior to the
delivery of the Assessment Roll to your municipality.
