The Wingham Advance-Times, 1984-12-12, Page 15Page 14 --The Wingham Advance -Times. Dec. 12, 1984 Moores place highly hly at skating competition Mark and Curtis Moore, formerly off Wingham, continued in their struggle to the top of the amateur figure skating world by placing highly in last week's Western Ontario Sectional Champion- ships at Fort Erie. Mark placed first in the junior men's category and will go on to compete at the division championships next month in St. Catharines. Pairs skater Curtis broke his ankle only days before the competition, but he took the cast off and skated anyway. He placed an amazing third, according to Dianne Simpson of the Wingham Figure Skating Club, and will advance to the division championships as well. The next step after the divisionals is the Canadian championships, said Mrs. Simpson. Wingham friends might think they will not be able to see the boys perform, but they will be featured at the local club's Feb. 15 winter carnival.
