The late Mrs. Ken Graham rested at the Gorrie Chapel of M. L. Watts Funeral Homes until Wednesday, November 28, when Rev. Cy Marzec conducted funeral service at two o'clock. Interment followed in Fordwich Cemetery. Pallbearers were John Baker, Harry McLeod, Charlie Halliday, Cecil Wilson, Archie Sinclair and Calvin Halliday. Death of Frederick Daw is mourned by his family Members of his family are this week mourning the death of Frederick William Daw of RR 3, Wingham, which took place on Satur- day, December 1, at University Hospital, London. He was in his 79th year and death followed a lengthy battle with illness. Mr. Daw was born in Croyden, England, on May 5, 1906, a son of the late Alfred Daw and Emma Louise Siggs. He was educated in Richmond, Surrey, England, and came to Canada about 1915 with his family who settled in the Kincardine - Ripley area. During 'his early adult life he worked as a farm hand and since moving to this area several years ago, he had been employed as a laborer at Lloyd -Truax, Howson and Howson and Berry Door. He retired in 1956. Mr. Daw was a veteran of World War II, serving overseas for four years, two of them in active duty. He was a member of Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 180, and the United Church. On November 30, 1932, Mr. Daw married his wife Bessie who survives to mourn his passing. There are • two daughters, Mrs. Wilburn (Joyce) Bragg and Mrs. Douglas (Mae) Clare, both of Toronto; three sons, Ivan of Strathroy, Wilson' of Wingham and Clair, RR 3, Wingham; 17 grandchildren and three great grand- children. He was predeceased by two sisters, Ivy and Edith, in England and there are two surviving nephews, Alan and Alfred Daw, in England. Friends paid their respects at The McBurney Funeral Home, Wingham, until Tuesday when funeral service was conducted at two o'clock by Rev. J. Rea Grant. Spring interment will take place in Teeswater Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers were Dave Willie, Clayton Willie, Allister Willie, Robert Willie, Duffy O'Bright, Randy O'Bright, Joe Schiestel, Doug Schiestel, Ernie Schiestel, Leo Willie, Don Willie and Ronald Willie. Serving as active pallbearers were Mike Willie, , Norm Brindley, Bruce Brindley, Bill Schiestel, Francis Schiestel and Bernie Bragg. His floral tributes were carried by four grandchildren, Lisa Daw, Stanley Bragg, Walter Clare and Philip Daw. Service held Tues. for Mrs: Sotheran Complete funeral and committal service was held at 2:30 Tuesday afternoon at the Gorrie Chapel of M. L. Watts Funeral Homes ,. for Mrs. Crosby 'William Sotheran of Fordwich. Rev. Cy Marzec officiated, with spring interment to take place in Fordwich Cemetery. He Was the beloved husband of Clara (Col lins); dear father of Mrs. Donald (Donna) King of Fordwich and Mrs. William (Maxine) Hanna, Waterloo; brother of Mrs. Clark (Kate) Renwick, Brookhaven, Wingham, Mrs. Bernard (Mary) Keemar of Toronto, Mrs. Harvey (Tena) McDermitt of Southampton, Mrs. Jack (Alma) Pitcher, Listowel, Mrs. Lloyd (Ethel) Montgomery of Wingham and Jack Fitch, RR 1, Wroxeter. Also surviving are four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Friends called at The McBurney Funeral Home, Wingham, on Tuesday evening. She was predeceased by her husband Crosby on July 22, 1975; one daughter Shirley in 1958 and one brother, Frank Slater, in 1976. Mr. and Mrs. Larry Timm and family, Kitchener, spent the weekend with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Pat Campbell, following the wedding of their nephew, Jim Dickis'on, and Karen Foxton in St. Paul's Anglican Church, Wingham, on Saturday. Gordon Gibson returned home Thursday, driven by his grandson, David Gibson of London, after spending ten days with his son Garry and Mrs. Gibson, Oshawa, and his daughter, Mrs. Bonnie MacDougall, in Burlington. Friday evening Mr. Gibson attended a 90th birthday dinner and party for his sister-in-law, Edna Cooper, in Palmerston where about 150-200 guests were present. The Wroxeter United Church Women held a Christmas tea, bake sale and craft sale in the Sunday School rooms of the church when a large crowd attended and a substantial amount of money was realized. Area relatives mourn death of Melbourne man It was with shock and deep regret that local and area relatives learned on the weekend of the death of Jason Wolfe of RR 1, Melbourne, who lost his life in a single -car accident near his home early Saturday morning. Jason had just recently celebrated his 22nd birthday. Jason Wolfe was the beloved son of John and Mary Wolfe of RR 1, Melbourne; dear brother of Judy and Keith Gillies, RR 4, Glencoe, Jennifer and Bruce Monck, RR 1, Melbourne, John and Diane Wolfe of Melbourne and Jim Wolfe, RR 1, Melbourne. He is also survived by his paternal grandfather, Anson Wolfe of Melbourne, formerly of Lakelet; and his maternal grandmother, Mrs. Florence Davis of Wardsville. He was a great-nephew of Mrs. Rowland Ballagh of Wingham and Mrs. Jack Ferguson of Listowel, for- merly of Gorrie, and was predeceased by one sister and one brother.
