The sudden passing oc-
curred at . her home on
Tuesday, August 7, of Mrs.
Clarence J. Conway of RR 1,
Wingham. She was in her
85th year.
Mrs. Conway was the
former Pearl F. Kerr and
was born in Gorrie, a
daughter of the late William
and Frances Kerr. She
received her elementary
schooling at SS No. 16,
Howick Township. She
married Robert McDonald in
August of 1924 and resided in
Wingham before his passing
in August of 1973. She
married Clarence J. Conway
of Mount Forest hi Barrie on.
November 24, 1976.
Surviving, besides her
husband, ate three
daughters, Mrs. Carl
(Dorothy) Siep of Streets-
yille, Mrs. Roly (Hazel)
Korstad of Newmarket and
Mrs. Allan yessie) Pilling,

Witnesses, Highway 86,
Wingham, where Mrs.
Conway was a member. Len
Geddes conducted the 2:30
service and interment
followed in Wroxeter
Cemetery.
Mrs. Conway was carried
to her final resting place by
Bob McDonald, Doug
Pilling, John Pilling, Ross
Siep, Larry Siep and Jerry
Siep. Brenda McDonald, Bill
McDonald, Brent McDonald,
Darlene Siep and Donna
Conway carried memorial
floral tributes.
Mrs. Don Ireland dies
following a long illness
Amy Alberta Ireland of
Culross Township passed
away at Wingham and
District Hospital on Friday,
August 3, in her 67th year.
Alberta, daughter of the
late Harry and . Mern
Ferguson, was born in
McGillivray Township,
Middlesex County, in 1918.
Shd was raised on Con-
cession 17, Howick Town-
ship, and moved to Culross
Township following her
marriage in 1942.
Alberta, widow of the late
Donald Ireland (1979), is
survived .by her Family,
Sandra and Jerry Meride,
_ London, Myrna and Morgan
Inglis, Walkerton, Keith and
Sandra Ireland, Ridgeville,
Sheila and Gord McMurray,
London, David and Joyce.
Ireland, Teeswater, Mark
and Debbie Ireland, Culross
Township, and Dean and
Sandra Ireland, Teeswater,
and 15 grandchildren. She is
also survived by her sister
Beatrice, Mrs. Everett
Sperling, Goderich, and two
brothers, Jack Ferguson,
Listowel, and Robert
Ferguson, Corrie.
The funeral service was
held Sunday, August 5, at
two o'clock in Teeswater
United Church Rev. Arnold
Proud conducted the service:
Committal followed at
Teeswater and Culross
Cemetery. Acting as
pallbearers were nephews,
Arian Ireland, Bob Ireland,
Bill Ireland, Lynn Ferguson,
Blake Ferguson and Doug
Ferguson. Flower bearers
were Steven Bradley and
Bevin Ireland.
Complete funeral arrange-
ments were handled by Mac-
Pherson's Funeral Chapel,
Teeswater.

death of his mother
A Wingham resident is
mourning the passing of his
miither, Mrs. Emily E.
Hubbard, who died Satur-
day, July 28, at Parkview
Manor Nursing Home,
Chesley. Mrs. Hubbard, a
former resident of Lakelet
and Clifford, was in her 72nd
year.
Born September 10, 1912,

Mrs. John (Ruth) Moore and
Mrs. Laura Voelzing.

Former resident
of Ether area
dies in Florida
A former Ethel resident,
Leslie Howard Pollard,
passed away at Clearwater,
Florida, on July 8, just 11
days after the death of his
wife, the former Emily
Fraser of Stratford.
Leslie Howard Pollard, 80,
son of the late Wesley and
Charlotte Pollard, was born
in Ethel. He” was a former
tool and die maker in
Detroit, a member of the
Crossroads Baptist Church
and a former Captain in the
Salvation Army in Michigan.

An important meeting for
Huron County beef
producers will be held next
Thursday, Aug. 23, at 8 p.m.
in the Clinton Legion Hall.
The meeting is intended to
organize the red meat
management groups
required for participation in
the new red meat incentives
program announced earlier
this year by Ontario
Agriculture Minister Dennis
Timbrell.
Outlined below are a.few
details concerning the types
of assistance available to
cow -calf and stocker -
slaughter producers if they
participate in the
management groups.
All cow -calf producers
should identify their cows
and calves so they can
participate in performance
testing under the beef herd
improvement program.
Producers will receive $25
per weaning weight and $20
per yearling weight for
heifers. Eligible producers
will also be able to receive a
$1,500 grant for capital
facilities and further
assistance will be available
for herd health, calf
preconditioning, forage
analysis and enterprise
analysis.
Under the stocker -
slaughter portion of the
program, producers will
have to weigh cattle at one to
two-month intervals and
belong to a management
club to be eligible for
assistance. A grant of $2.00
per weight to a maximum of
$750 per year will be
available.
As well, eligible producers
can get further assistance
for capital facilities, forage
testing, herd health and'
enterprise analysis.
James Reesor of Union-
ville has been hired to assist
producers in Huron and
Perth with this program. A
1980 graduate of OAC, he has
worked as assistant
manager of a livestock feed
company in Markham.
