shower honoring Debbie Hall
was held in the Brussels
United Church the evening of
July 30.
Alice Brothers and Freida
Pipe played a number of toe -
tapping piano duetsvhile the
ladies were arriving. A short
program followed with a
baton -twirling act done by
Cherida Garniss and Dianne
Hall • Anne Kernaghan
played two selections on her
flute, accompanied by Karen
Cardiff at the piano.
Wilma Hemingway gave a
humorous reading which
was followed by another duet
by Mrs. Brothers and Mrs.
Pipe. Sarah Stephenson read
one of her humorous stories.
Prior to receiving her
gifts, Miss Hall's matron of
honor, Diane Campbell, read
an address. Miss Hall is the
daughter of Jack and Jane
Hall and the grandaughter of
Mrs. Aletha Rann and Mrs.
Sadie Hall, all of Brussels. "
GETTING LAUNCHED—Kay Morrison and Patty Twed-
dle helped to get the canoe into the water and the
youngsters loaded up for an afternoon of canoe rides in
the Maitland River above the Howson Dam on Monday.
The event brought together youngsters from the Sum-
mer Fun (ages five to seven) and Outdoor Alive (ages
11 to 13) programs run by the Wingham recreation
department.

A four o'clock ceremony
on the afternoon of Saturday,
"June 23, united in marriage

Doug and Beatrice Ward of
RR 5, Lucknow, and Steven
Lorenz, son of Eldon and
Dorothy Lorenz, RR 3,

Proud officiated and Miss
Debbie MacRae was
organist for the ceremony
which was solemnized in
Teeswater United Church.
Given .in marriage by her
parents, the bride chose a
floor -length gown fashioned
with high neckline and slim -
fitting bodice trimmed with
pearls and lace. The three-
• quarter -length sleeves were
also made of lace and a long
full train was edged with
layers of lace. She carried a
"bouquet of midnight blue
roses, stephanotis, azaleas
° blue variegated ivy and
baby's breath.
The bride's honor at-
tendant, Allison Kissner of
Teeswater; and brides-
maids, Kathy Kennedy of
Teeswaer and Tracy Ward,
sister of the bride, of Luck -
now, wore pastel blue gowns
with three-quarter length
sleeves and chiffon and"lace
high -collared overjackets.
Their flowers were midnight
blue roses with azaleas,
variegated ivy and baby's
breath.
Another sister of the bride,
Angela Ward, was flower
girl. She wore a Swiss dot '
chiffon dress trimmed with
lace and satin with a pastel
blue underdress.
Ushering special guests,
including grandparents of
the bridal couple and the
groom's great grandmother,
Mrs. Ernest Lorenz of
Fergus, were David Ken-
nedy of Teeswater and Tim
Ward, Lucknow.. Craig
Anderson of Teeswater was
best man. Other out-of-town
guests from London, and
Brantford were welcomed at
a reception held in Belmore
Community Centre.
The bride's mother wore a
peacock blue dress with
spaghetti straps and detailed
bodice, topped with a belted
overjacket with three-
quarter -length sleeves. To
complement the dress, she
wore a corsage of pink
carnations with white ac-
cents. The groom's mother
chose a long-sleeved pastel
blue dress trimmed with
white. Her corsage was baby
blue carnations with white
accents.
Mr.. and Mrs. Lorenz are
residing at RR 2, Teeswater.
