Donald Procter, Marlene McGee
are married in country setting
In a picturesque country
wedding held Saturday, July
21, at 2:30 p.m., Marlene
Louise McGee of RR 3,
Wingham, and Donald
George Procter of RR 4,
Brussels, exchanged their
vowe.
The bride is the daughter
of Mr. and Mrs. George
McGee, of RR 3, Wingham,
e and the groom is the son of
Mrs. Dorothy Procter, RR 4,
Brussels, and the late Wilbur
Procter.
No wedding would be
complete without flowers in
the church. Two ` altar
candelabra of black wrought
iron stood at the front of the
church, decorated with pink
and mauve roses, lilies and
forget-me-nots cascading
around pink candles in glass
globes. Each aisle was
enhanced by a single can-
delabrum sporting blue
forget-me-nots, white car-
nations and ivy trailing from
around a glass-globed candle
and each was joined to the
next' by 'three wide ribbon
streamers, creating a setting
for a very special occasion.
Rev. John G. Roberts of
Belgrave performed the
double -ring ceremony. Mrs.
Winona Thompson of RR 5,
Wingham, was organist,
playing traditional music.
She accompanied the soloist,
Miss Pam Shaw of Belgrave,
who sang "Can't Help
Falling in Love With You",
"O Perfect Love", "We've
Only Just Begun" and
"Hawaiian Wedding Song"
and played a flute solo, "You
Light Up My Life".
The sun filtered softly
through multi -colored panes
of glass and everything was
quiet except for the birds
chirping in trees surround-
ing the Belgrave United
Church. As the ceremony
began, the groom arid his
best man, his brother,
Murray Procter of Ailsa
Craig, and the ushers, Jim _
McGee of RR 3, Wingham,
brother of the bride, and Ron
Nicholson of Barrie, friend of
the groom, took their places
at the front of the church.
The bridesmaids, Mrs.
Linda Logan of Wyoming,
Ontario, and Mrs. Marian
Strauss of Waterloo, sisters
of the bride, then appeared,
wearing floor -length gowns
of blue jersey, with fitted
chiffon bodices and peplums;
deep ruffles around lace
insets and Victorian
necklines. They carried
delicately -crafted blue
parasols ---highlighted by
roses, mini tiger lilies and
gypsophila.
The flower girl, Miss
Jackie Strauss of Waterloo,
niece of the bride, was next,
wearing a long white gown
with high Victorian neckline
and double ruffles around
the hemline and up the back
of the skirt. She also carried
a parasol, although daintier
in size, with tucks and ruffles
to match those of the
bridesmaids and a spray of
flowers. She was ac-
companied down the aisle by
the ringbearer, Robbie
McGee, nephew of the bride,
who carried a heart -shaped
pillow with a mini corsage in
pink roses, forget-me-nots
and baby's breath.
The matron of honor, Mrs.
Chris McGee of RR 3,
Wingham, sister-in-law of
the bride, preceded the bride
down the aisle. She wore a
pink floor -length jersey
gown styled similarly to the
