"We left our Acorn at 6 a.m.
and walked along the Atlan-
tic , Ocean on the almost
deserted boardwalk to the
Convention Centre," Connie
Robinson says.
Her instructors for the
Early Bird Sessions were
from Texas, Oregon, Louis-
iana and Illinois.
....,Locations for classes,
which ran from 6;30 a.m. to6
p.m., were lecture rooms,
the "boardwalk', the beach
and the Smithville Safari.
Smithville is an authentic
recreation of an 1800's town
filled With picture -taking op-
portunities.

THESE YOUNG SCHOLARS, captured the top awards at a Grade 8
banquet held Last Monday evening at the Howick Central School.
Award winners are: Francine Bolding, Brenda Brown . Citizenship
Award and Jean Sparling Scholarship, Linda Wilson, Brenda Brown
SHAWN GEDCKE and Ryan Deyell were medal winners
at a province -wide track and field m'eet°held last Sunday
at Ottawa. Shawn captured 'a gold medal In the
400 -metre race in the Atom division and a bronze in the
200-rnetre. Ryan won a silver medal in the Tyke
100 -metre competition and a bronze in the 200 -metre.
Both boys are students at the'Wir3gham Public School
and were representing the Wingham Track and Field
