in Canada do no* resolve to unit
witlithe Methodist Church of Caned
and the Congregational Churches o
Canada to constitute the "Unite
Church of Canada,"
2., ,"That a Committee be appoint
ed to carry out the policy of the As

In 1921 at Toronto, the Genera

by a vote of about four to one in th
following terms.:
'1. "Be it resolved that this Genera
Assembly take such steps as may b
deemed best to consummate Organi

"That , a; representative Com -
to confer with negotiating Churches
and to carry out the policy of the
Assembly and to report to, the next
Assembly." `
We submit from the abo-ve facts
that to any fair-minded person the
policy of the Presbyterian Church,
aa'expressed by its Suprenie Court;
is perfectly clear and unambiguous,
It has been contended thatothe
presence of anti-unioniets on the As-
senablyls Union Committee -indicates
that it was not iatended to definatelY
promote the Union. In answer to
th-`contention, permit us to state
that these antiounionists were ap-
pointed ae a result of a specific re-
quest from leaders of, the anti -union
section of th.e Assembly. This was
agreed to by the I.Tniom'sts in a spirit
of, Conciliation. '
