Peace on earth.
BY BROWNIE
I am a doodler, or a
dabbler, or whatever you
call it when you sit down
with pen to- hand and
either draw a picture or
put into words, a thought
or idea that takes over
the mind -until it is
released on paper.
In these last days of
1979, when I and most
people are preparing
themselves and their
homes to tell the good
news of 'Peace on earth,
goodwill toward men',
the news reports are
filling our homes with the
bad news of 'Turbulence
on earth and hatred
toward men', and' we ask
the unanswered question,
"What is this world
coming to?"
As I thought about it
and tried to put the blame
on some unknown person
or thing, I realized that
the world is not an
inanimate object, void of
any sense or feeling. The

- dress. Hercorsage was a
pink orchid.
For travelling, the
bride chose a navy
'4, figured street -length
dress of polyester knit.
Her accessories were
navy and she wore a silk
corsage of red car-
nations.
Mr. and Mrs. Harman
reside in Bayfield.
Prior to the wedding,
the bride was feted at a
shower given by Mrs.
Phyllis Campbell and
Mrs. Clara Johnston of
Bayfield, for relatives of
the bride; at, a surprise
shower held by Mrs. Ruth
Pfrimmer and Ms. Carole
Robinson -of Goderich, for
friends of the bride; and
at a community shower
at Varna.
A presentation was
made by tie County of
Huron at a/luncheon. The
bride is n employee of
the count
world is one. The World is
you. The world is all
mankind.
The following verse is
my reflections of a world
full off despair and
anxiety.
'What in this world are
people searching for?
Why are we so
dissatisfied?
Why do we always think
the grass is so much
greener on the other
side?
What in this world are
people fighting for?
Why do we need an
enemy?
Why can't we live with
othwcs near and far in
peaceful harmony?
Everyone was made by
our Creator
Equal - though' different
we may be.
This was planned so we
could share the goodness,
And forgive the evil that
we see, 'in all, in you, in
me.
What in this world are
people searching for?
What is this thing that
can't be bought?
Why do we take for
granted all we have
And wish for things we
haven't got?
How would we feel if we'
could buy all things?
Would we be happy and
content?
Or would we find there's
something missing
When our money is all
spent
Everyone was made by
our Creator
Given - our hopes, our
dreams, our fears,
This was planned so we
could share'with others
All the wisdom gained
throughout the years, by
all, by you, by me.
What in this world are
people searching for?
Scanning each country
and each town.
Perhaps' we'd find This
thing we need so much

- If we would spread some
love around.
If it is happiness we're
lg fo,
It couldookinbe
rright outside
our door. -
If we would learn to want
a little less
And give a whole lot
more.
Wouldn't it be nice if in
1980, the start of a new
decade, the world would
once again experience
the joy of peace on earth,
goodwill to all - to you - to
me?

Hope you refuse them fo
all our sake.
A daughter is pregnan
who to blame,
She will do the paying in
the sex game.
Let her not hurry to
change her name
For we will love and
comfort without shame.
Sometimes we are angry
and do get cross
You only . think we are
trying to be boss.
But we love you dearly no
less
PARENT FEARS
' A baby cries and should
be fed.
The fear of choking is our
dread.
Our baby's walking, what
a fear
One miss step will cause
a tear.
Off to school, and a
parent will know
The roads are dangerous,
where they go.
Our child grows up, a car
is next
Late nights make parents
a wreck.
A siren wails and they
aren't home,
And only want, what for
you is best.
At last tiey are married
and on their own
When often they say it is
'their weekend to roam
We try not to worry, now
we are alone
But are glad to hear they
are once more home.
A parent we become and
stay throughout the years
And it sure is worth all
the tears and fears.
To have someone say
over those years
We love and thank you,
parent dear.
Just Parents
