Members of the medical staff are studying the guidelines and will be making recom- mendations to the board, probably at the January meeting. AM&G does, of course, have .a CCU which ac- cording to statistics, is very active. However, it does not have the funding for the unit which many hospitals enjoy. The comment was made after Dr. J.L. Hollingworth, president' of the medical staff, indicated the doctors at AM&G had talked about the need for a parttime admissions and discharge clerk at the hospital: Dr. Hollingworth went on to say the doctors had been advised that a Huron -Perth admissions and discharge officer was being considered. The doctors say that chronic patients and their families need help and advice when Lt comes time to make the move to a nursing home. "One problem is that the government has said J / there should be more chronic beds, but so far there is still a shortage," said Dr. James Rourke.
