Elves demand raise
Everyone has inflation
problems! Even me,
Santa Claus ! On
Christmas Eve I have to
travel around the world!
You think you have it
bad! I have many elves
working for me and they
demand a raise! Here. are
, sprne of the things they
said to me,
"Hey Santa, the cost of
all these toys is going
higher, so we want a
raise."
"Yeh, you cheap-
skate!" My' elves don't
usually talk like that,!
Then there's the
reindeer! They demand
more carrots and lettuce.
Although the people won't
give it to them because of
inflation„ they demand it
anyway.
Some people don't even
want me to land on their
rooftops in case I wear
out the shingles! They
say the cost of shingles is
going "sky" high. Boy, is
this. going to be a tough
Christmas! .

Lists too long
Christmas! With all the
money I pay these lazy
elves to make my gifts I
could probably buy toys
for all the children.
Look at the length of.
this list. A dolly for Shari,
and a wooden block set
for' James. Oh dear! I
shall just have to visit the
Consumer's Distributing
Warehouse.
My, look at all these
beautiful toys and just
think I'm •. paying the
elves for unworthy work
and I could come here on
shopping sprees.'.Ah, but
look at these prices! A
doiiy for Shari costs more
than I pay'my best elf. So
this is what they mean; ,by
inflation. 1,
Oh weal! The past was
much better than
nowadays. I hope my
elves are willing to come
back and work for mt. I
might have to pay them
extra but with the cost of
inflation they dei 'a good
job.

Difficult year
inflation is truly a
difficult thing especially
at Christmas. What I
think the problem is that
all of the' manufacturers
of .toys want to make big
money at Christmas so
the higher the prices.
This is how .we should
deal with inflation at
Christmas.
_T,hismight,.no.t be the
most scientific way or
brilliant way but I think it
will work. What we do is
invent a robot Santa
Claus and about ten
thousand ..robot elves.
1
Santa will own all of the
toy manufacturing
companies.
I know you . are now
saying how will Santa
know what to give each
child. Well it's very
simple. Each parent
writes Santa and tells
him what to give each
child.
Now I .know .what you.
are thinking, how will
Santa deliver all of the
presents on time. §,,ee
everybody chips in aid
buys Santa a Concord.
Then Santa an -d his elves
go over each house and
drop all of the presents
Selling out... for that family.
This way to deal witfY
from page 1B inflation might have just.
Christmas, just think of a few flaws, but at least '
how hard it must be to be you won't have that.
Santa Clause with todays hectic last minute
inflation. I'm sure glad Christmas shopping.
I'm not Santa.

Santa, fed up with
inflation, like everyone
•
else, had a bright idea.
His great idea was to
have a mini -old folks
home. Old people with
tons of experience were
just the thing to win the
war with inflation. Mrs.
Claus's wholesome
cooking and the crisp
clean air of the north pole
could make anyone feel
young at heart.
Firing the elves
because they demanded
such outlandish salaries,
the eldery made a perfect
replacement since they
worked free of charge.
Being useful was im-
portant to the people and_approximately one,

stuffed the stockings.
Santa enjoyed being with
people in his own age
group. Also Santa saved
