This results in people eating the Christmas dinner on the floor and walking four miles to work all`winter. This is a serious problem. One solution is to.take out a loan from the bank. This way, you will probably be eating your food right off the table and bicycling four miles to work all year. Another solution to this problem is to work eighteen -hour days for a month before Christmas. This solves the money problem altogether but you may be sleeping for a Choose to get a horse • „j f,IINv.ere to get only one Christmas present this year I think I would choose to get a horse. Ever since I was little I have always loved horses but my dad always said I couldn't have one since, with Holstein cows in our barn, we weren't allowed to. If I were to get one I, could go to the store in the winter, and summer or if ow- .cows were loose I could round them' up with my horse. I would also like to enter the horse in races and.. other com- petitions. I would in the winter go around and offer rides td" -- anyone who wanted, just like in the olden days. I would name my horse Snowflake, if a girl or Prince if it was a boy. I don't really'" know what kind of horse I would want but if I could choose I would want •to ave a • Pinto or a P imino. I • •n't really know how good .e different kinds of horse are but I would be satisfi d with any kind. I would. refe/a, he - horse becau /then I wouldn't have o worry about baby's, c is and fillies because I ow I would be happy with just a horse. I don't think my parents would really, reai.ly mind having a horse around, and with me it would be A O.K. My bt'bthers and Sisteff would not think it fair, but who cares! Wilma Vandervelde Age 12 Brookside Public School The saddest thing that ever happened to me is haveing the chickenpox on Christmas! We have a dinner on Christmas Day. We couldn't go to it (By the way Debbie and Diane had the Chickenpox too,) We felt so miserable. It's a .wonder Mom and Dad got it 'too! On Christmas it wasn't to happy, But it didn't take long for it to go away. I guess' it was just a coincidence. What a Christmas! By Donna Raymond Grade 4 Rm. 3 - Brookside Public School couple of weeks after Christmas. The best solution is to buy less expensive gifts. After all, its the thought that counts. Jamie Bere Brookside School Room 11 THE FUNNIEST THING THAT HAPPENED TOME ON CHRISTMAS11'' The funniest thing that happened to me on Christmas was when I was three years old. I woke up early in the morning and saw two dark brown glowing eyes in a chair that was downstairs. I thought it was Santa Claus. I woke my sisters up and we went downstairs towards the glowing eyes. Are mother heard us, when we stepped on a creaky board and sent us back to bed. When it was at the"time we usualy get up we went downstairs. When the lights were on, we saw that it was my big stuffed bear. After we had looked at it we all -laughed so hard that the house shook. Stephen Bugler Age 11 Holmesville P.S. BREAKINGJIY NEW TOBOGGAN On Christmas morning I received a new toboggan. I took it to the Stratford Festival hill. I rode it down the hill three times, then we visited my grandparents. We ate lunch, then we asked five other people if they wanted to go tobogganing and they agreed. We were tobogganing down the hill when my cousin hit me. He cracked the wood on the toboggan, but it wasn't that big. We kept on riding toboggans until we decided to go back to my grandparents. When we returned, we glued the toboggan. We ate a snack and went back to the hill. We rode down the hill then I hit a tree and my toboggan broke. That is how my toboggan broke. When I was looking at the big and small presents, I noticed one thing. None of the presents were mine. When my mother woke up I asked her very politely why there were no presents for me, under are nicely decorated Christmas tree. She just said that I wasn't getting any presents this year. When it came time to pass out all the presents, everyone received a present except me. I broke out laughing because everyone was staring at me. When I stopped my silly laugh, I thought I would look in my stocking to see if anything was in it, but it was empty. Then again everybody started staring and then I started laughing in amazement. Then I realized it was all a joke. My mother brought out a new stocking just bursting with candy. Then my dad brought out all my presents, I un- wrapped my presents and found all sorts of big gifts that I had always wanted. This was the funniest Christmas ever. It could save us from a war or a fight with someone who you might hurt without knowing it, Friendship is what everyone need.
