Dear Boys and Girls,
Ho, Ho, Ho! Gee I'm
bored of saying that. How
about well, well, well?
Anyway, what shall I
do this Christmas? It's
not just getting toys but
food for elves and rein-
deer.
The price of elf -sized
shredded wheat has gone
way up and ho, hey,,I
mean n hay has just sky-
rocketed.
This year I'll have to
use Mrs. Claus' wigs for
bedding.
• Rudolph. keeps com-
plaining because the
lightbulb in his nose
keeps going out. I'll -have
to read my list by candle-
light. or even, match -light
this year.
It's just so hard to
afford things these days!
I think I'll have to hire
my elves out as
babysitters for midgets -
and my reindeer for
horse racing.
The toy supplies- are
also expensive.
Sometimes I wonder if
instead of,buying paint to
paint toys, I'll use Mrs.
Claus' nail polish. Oh
things are so trying!
Well here come my
elves with the supplies for
building more toys.
What's this? No steel,
plastic, nylon or wool!
Just plain old, wood and I
mean old.
It looks like it was used
to build that little log
cabin by the museum
down in Goderich. Well
we're not going to put up
with this!
Come elves, get your
saws and axes. We're
going to chop down one or
two evergreens» Oh, and
save the needles. We'll
use them for stuffing
some of the toys instead
of styrofoam or beans...
Well we're finally back.
Wow ! Just look at all
those Christmas letters
for me.
Listen to this one,
"Dear Santa, I have -been
a good boy this year and I
would pleas like a pup-
py...Love Joey Crackle."
Gee he sounds cute.
Hey! Maybe he'll settle
for a baby reindeer in-
stead of a puppy.
Look at this one, "P.S.
Santa, would you like a
kitten to keep you
'company up North? If so
just take one. Their box is
at the door. Love Susie
Mumbly."
Now I really don't think
we need a kitten up here,
but it was a kind thought.
Now boys and girls,
when you write your
Christmas list, you may
think that the presents I
don't give you, Mom and
Dad ' will. This may not
always be the case. There
may be a present you
really want and if you
don't get it, just think,
"Did I really need it?"
Other things Mom, Dad
or I may •note e able to
afford. Don't rry
though, you may ! ti¢
receive the dolly or bike
you've wanted all year
long
Remember though; if
you don't get what you
want always be happy.
with what you get!
P.S. We "Love Ya All".
Love, Santa.

Dear Santa
How are you and Mrs.
Claus and I won't forget
the reindeer. Santa I
really liked the toys that
you gave,: -me last year.
And this year I would like
a watch but if you doen't
have one it's alright
because I won't care but
if you can I will be happy
but if you .doen't have one
I won't be unhappy.
That's all for this year.
Bye Santa
Yours truly

Santa's bills pile up
"Bills, Bills, Bills!"
Santa said. "What will I'
do? If I don't get more
money for Christmas
presents all the children
of the world will be sad.
Even my government •
grant isn't enough. I'm
afraid there might not be
a Christmas this year."
So he went to the elves
with his problem. None of
them knew what to do.
For five hours they
'thought and nothing
came up. So the elves
went to bed. But Santa
kept on thinking. All of a
sudden, Santa thought I'll
just call the United
Nations for some money.
Then he thought they'll be
too busy with the Iranian
situation to bother with
me. After that; he -thought--..
to himself, I'll have to set
up a fund raising thing.
He. went to bed then
feeling pretty good.
The next morning came
very fast. Even though `
Santa was tired, he got up
to tank to his elves. He
$100.00 a plate. Of course,
a lot of stars came). It
was a big success and
they had gotten enough
money to start production
on toy's. Everything
turned out alright and it
was a very Merry
Christmas.
