And Mrs. mouse kerchief and I in my cap had just settled down for a long winters nap. When down by the weels there rose such a clatter I sprang for my matchbox to see what's the matter. Chris Age 8 Grade 3 Victoria School CHRISTMAS Most children in all North America believe in Santa Claus. They also believe it's a time for opening preasants, but it isn't. Hear a little story about a family years ago having their Christmas. A family was eating there Christmas dinner when their son said, "Can we open our preasants now?" His father answered sadly, "No preasants this year. I'll read a story instead with the true meaning of Christmas. O.K." When his father was finish, his son said, "I don't get it." "Well it means that at Chirstmas time you remember that Chirst was born. Not to open preasants." I. would send one ofmy elves to all the stores that had • summer end sales, I'd fix up old toys, make new toys out of old ones that are too badly damaged and go to rummage sales. Then hopefully I would KNOWING JESUS Jane and Sandy are babysitting for Mrs. Ketcham. Sandy was kitting. Jane said, "I can't wait for Christmas and get gifts." Sandy replied, "I can't wait until Chistmas to remember Jesus' bir- thday. Jane laughed, "Ha! Ha! Is that all? How do we know that God is real?" Sandy said, "Do you have a Bible?" Jane said, "No but who cares." -Sandy replied, "Here have mine and read Luke 2." - • Next Sunday Sandy saw Jane in church. Jane came over. "Man! I didn't know that much," Jane ex- claimed. Sandy said, "What did you read?" Jane said, "I read that Jesus came and died for our sins. Well bye." Sandy felt real good and went home. When suddly I heard a large thump! I ran down the stairs and peaked through the door. There stood a man with a belly like jelly. He was short and fat and wore a red and white suit. He dug into his bag and pulled out many different shapes and sizes of boxes. He climbed up the chimney and on to the roof where his reindeer and sleigh were waiting. He jumped into the sleigh and took off- into -the sky shouting, "Merry Christmass to all and to all a good night.
