My mom and I made punch. I set it on the table. Everybody sat down. My Uncle. Jin almost sat on the cat. The cat jumped on the table and looked in the punch bowl. He saw something. It was just his shadow and he tried to get it. He stuck his head in a spilt the howthing. Everybody laughed I didn't think it was funny because I had to clean the floor and the cat. Denise Riehl Victoria School Grade 5 Age 10 Santa Solves it "Oh dear", sighed Santa, "here it is already 6, o'clock and I still haven't figured out how to give that child ,her present. About three weeks before Christmas Santa received a letter. This is what it said. Dec. 3, 1979 Dear Santa, I am the youngest of a large family. Everyone (but niy parents and I) has moved away from home. They have gone all over the world and some can't get home for Christmas. All I want for - Christmas is, for all of them to come: home. I really want to see them .all again. Yours truly, Colleen "I don't know how to answer this letter," Santa explained. • "Well, you could just miss her this year," suggested his wife. "I can't do that," he exclaimed, "it's shirking my responsibility!" "Why don't you make something go wrong so they HAVE to come home?" offered an eif. "But then everyone would be worried and not in the joyful Christmas mood," he replied. "Why don't you put them in a dream about coming home?" said a very quiet and thoughtful mouse. "Hey that's it," ex- claimed Santa, "they can dream they came home!" Santa made the trip that night sure of himself and whistling a happy tune. In the morning there were many who had a very enjoyable and exciting dream. Colleen Rodges Holmesville School Gr. 8 HUNK OF COAL FOR CHRISTMAS On the 23 my mother said if I didn't stop picking on my brother I wouldn't get anything for Christmas except a hunk of coal. Two days later on Christmas, I got a couple pieces of coal I also got something as heavy as a brick. But it was only some books. And what do you know, I had to stay there_. for the Chistmas holiday. I had a lonesome week. Then on the Chistmas my morn brought me a doll. But in the end, it was the best for me. The angel told Mary that she was to have a son and to name her son Jesus. When the angel went away Mary went to her cousin Elizabeth for three months. When she reached her cousin's house she could feel her baby leap inter stomach. After the three months were over she went back to her house. Mary and Joseph got married a week ori more after. When Caesar Augustus made a request that the people of Nazareth go to Bethlehem to be taxed-. So Joseph packed up the donkey and headed for Bethlehem. When they reached Bethlehem they were very tired. There was, an inn in Bethlehem. So Mary and Joseph went there. When they got there they knocked on the door. The innkeeper answered the door. Joseph asked if they could have a room. The innkeeper said no! The inn is full and slammed the doo Vit.. hut. So Jeph went to find shelter ` for them.. He found a little stable. So he brought Mary there. In the night while Joseph was asleep, Mary lay awake. Joseph woke up and found that his wife was just to have her baby. So he went to get some fresh hay to put in the manger. When the manger was fresh Jesus was born. A year or two after Jesus was born some shepherds came to worship Jesus.
