It was just before Christmas one year. I really don't remember it that well but this is how it went. Our cat had kittens a few w eks before Chr' as and we wanted to ke one. I think his name w Tom. He was a mischief maker. We .a1Ways put up our Christmas tree about a week before Christmas, and, it happened Tom was still a kitten. We had our presents under the tree already. We're always careful to put the class balls out of harms danger. This year it didn't matter. You know 'why? If that darn kitten didn't climb up that tree and knock it over. Bang! Chash! What a startled kitten! A couple of balls brook thats all. It .sure was funny, that little kitten Tom (the big mischief maker! ) Maria Dalton St. Joseph's Kingsbridge Grade 6 The funniest thing that happend to me was when I was playing with my toys all day all night and next they brock I was so mad I din't even want to see them I through them in the....garbage. When I' was out at my sister's place in Carlow, my sister and I were decorating the Christmas tree, with ornaments and Christ- mas lights. Once the tree fell over and we had a hard fime getting -it back up! Most of the Christ- mas ornaments fell off. It took two and a half hours to put it back up. Then all of a sudden Porky, Debbie's dog came through the window and went charging for the Christmas tree. All of a sudden CRASH _ the r • Christmas tree was all over the floor. A lot of the needles had fallen out and many of decorations were broke. Porky was jellous because everybody wasn't paying any at- tention to Porky and Porky didn't get his lunch. Next time we will remember to feed Porky his supper. I was so happy that I got them..I almost used allthe paper. When I used one of my modelling material my brother and I did a little old lady, lut I didn't kiiow what to do with the other part. With my art I used some clay and made a rabbit, and with th( paints I painted a picture that my mom really Iiked. I was so happy I almost used everything up. This Christmas I hope to get some more Art things again. THE END Grant Lounsbury Age 11 Robertson Memorial Public School Grade 5. One Christmas at my place at night. "I guess your right," said Billy "there is a Santa." Next was the main room, there was a long scroll with lot's of kid's name in alphebettical order. ARTHRITIS 1 am a miniature battle ground Where warring demons still abound, In every joint I feel them pound, Why is it worse at night. I've yet to smoke or take a drug, I'm not a victim of the jug, This gnawing arthritic bug is what 1 have to fight, I must be bad and full of sin For angry devils try within - To push my bones out through my skin, .A most depressing sight. How does one fight this wall to wall pain, At times 1 think 1'11 go insane,. But 1 get up and try again, When dawn dispells the night. Can't tie my shoes or comb my hair, 1'd sit and cry, then silently swear, My days were filled with deep despair, AND THEN TO MY DELIGHT!! I met a doctor who set me free From pain and immobility, His medications and therapy, Will be by guiding light. SPONSORED BY THE GODERICH BRANCH OF THE ARTHRITIS SOCIETY •
