Andrea Smith Age 10, Grade 5 St. Joseph's Kingsbridge CHRISTMAS DAY One nighf there was a man named Joseph and his wife Mary riding on a donkey. In the morning Mary brought forth her fir- stborn Son and wrapped Him in swaddling cloths and laid Him in a manger, because there was no place for them in the inn. • And in that region there were shepherds'out in the field keeping watch over . their flock by night. That' night an angel came to the shepherds and said there is a babe borned in Bethlehem the King of the •Jews. When the shepherds heard this they were amazed and got up and went to Bethlehem, when they got there they bowed down and wor- shipped Him. There were wise men in the east and came to see where the babe was. That night they came to Jerusalem, there was a King there and his'name was Herod when He heard the good news he said tothe wise men "when you see the baby could you poreback to me so that I may worhip him too. Then the wise men went on and saw a star in the sky and followed where the baby was. The wise men gave Him myrrh, frankinense and gold, but told the wise men in a dream not to go the same way they came from because king Herod wanted to kill him. So the wise men went home a different way. , Helena de Vries Grade six Clinton and District Christian School - .•-•""- 1 7 • pYj fir: 1 I x xgiV • 1 1 gel!" 1 ‘%k ' I Nik • ' •OP_ _._,...moisolii...P. ..,., e; : -,•-qiiiiwowele-4 . , . .. ...4Avr- - /_ ' •r- :440461640:- •,• 1,14- .41 he star which they'Saw in the cast went before them, c‘cd guided thein to Where thc young child was.
