for AM
Alexandra Marine and
General Hospital em-
ployees will still have a
drug plan after the
December meeting of the
hoard, but it will be ad-
ministered by Green
Shield rather than Blue
Cross.
The board learned that
Green Shield coverage is
about $3,000 less than
Blue Cross for the same
options. .
Green Shield's rates
are $4,68 single, $12.99

are $5.66 single, $16.06
family.
The board attempted
last year to switch from
Blue Cross to Green
Shield, but employees
urged them to remain
with Blue Cross.
Administrator Elmer
Taylor said this year he
has been advised that
employees are quite in
agreement with the
switchover to Green
Shield.

MacMillan explained
that under the present
billing the town is
charged $84 for six
month's for the taps for an
annual charge of $168.
If the PUC charged its
present flat rate of $6.50 a
month per unit that an-
nual price would increase
to $1,092, or 550 percent.
If the commission
'chose to increase to its
preVent.flat rate but only
charge for the eight
months the taps are used
wou
be decreased to $728, or
333 percent.
PUC 'manager Al
Lawson pointed out to the
commission that the
utility turns the outdoor
faucets on and off and
mat.ntains- them without
even charging the flat
rate. He said the• utlility•
does not Olen cover its
expenses at the present
rate it charges.
Mayor Harry Worsell
said he understood the
town handled m-uch of the
niaintenance to theunits.

The Goderich Public
Utilities Commission
decided at its. last
meeting if it updated its
charge to the town for
outdoor watertaps and
water fountains the in-
crease would be 'far too
great for one year.
The commission
learned that charges
leviect, to the town for 14
water taps and fountains,
most of whi-oh-are-located
in town park areas, are
far below what they
should be according to
present PUC water rates.
But rather than update
the rates the commission
did what it has been doing
since anyone can
remember. It increased
the nominal fee the same
percentage it increased
its water rates earlier
this year.
To show what kind of
spread existed between.
the ,two charges PUC
office manager Don
McMillan prepared a
report for the com-
mission.
