Photography clubs active
The unpredictable
weather of the winter
season doesn't have to
limit activity and this
applies particularly to
photography.
Winter provides both
amateur and professional
photographers unique
situations and unusual,
settings and lighting
conditipns. The
possibilities are limitless.
There are two camera
clubs of interest in the
Goderich area; the
Maitland Valley
Photographic Association
and the Huron Camera
Club.
The Maitland Valley
Photographic Association
meets every second
Monday in Goderich and
offers regular programs
nd workshops to
nembers. Aside from
nstructional programs
`re club holds regular
ontests and field trips
ore being planned for the
iew year.
- The club's goal is to
expand interest in
.amateur photography
and their membership is
to 50. `The contact
rerson is Al Lawson at
524-4691.
The association is
looking for new members
and Lawson offered
assurance that the club
accomodates all
photographers regar-
dless of experience or
interests. _.
The second club, Huron
Camera Club, has been
dormant for a while but
Eric Carmen of the
Huron Camera Centre
-hopes to revive in
January after getting
several requests.
This club too will offer
workshops and learning
experiences to all
amatuer photographers
or even those who would
like to get initiated to the
hobby.
The Huron Camera
Club hopes to cover a full
range of activity on a
basis__ twice .a_.
month. It will operate on
a workshop format with
films and perhaps related
field trips.
Both clubs offer
photographers in-
struction and op-
portunities in specialized
areas as well as helping
beginners get established
in `tie hobby.
The Huron club plans
tentatively to get going in
the new year and the
Maitland club begins
their activities on
January 7. Here is a list
of their activities.
