Winter provides both amateur and professional photographers unique situations and unusual, settings and lighting conditipns. The possibilities are limitless. There are two camera clubs of interest in the Goderich area; the Maitland Valley Photographic Association and the Huron Camera Club. The Maitland Valley Photographic Association meets every second Monday in Goderich and offers regular programs nd workshops to nembers. Aside from nstructional programs `re club holds regular ontests and field trips ore being planned for the iew year. - The club's goal is to expand interest in .amateur photography and their membership is to 50. `The contact rerson is Al Lawson at 524-4691. The association is looking for new members and Lawson offered assurance that the club accomodates all photographers regar- dless of experience or interests. _. The second club, Huron Camera Club, has been dormant for a while but Eric Carmen of the Huron Camera Centre -hopes to revive in January after getting several requests. This club too will offer workshops and learning experiences to all amatuer photographers or even those who would like to get initiated to the hobby. The Huron Camera Club hopes to cover a full range of activity on a basis__ twice .a_. month. It will operate on a workshop format with films and perhaps related field trips. Both clubs offer photographers in- struction and op- portunities in specialized areas as well as helping beginners get established in `tie hobby. The Huron club plans tentatively to get going in the new year and the Maitland club begins their activities on January 7. Here is a list of their activities. Activity list January? -NAPA slides - Let's make titles and winter scenes contest. January 21 -Workshop - title slides. Bring camera, tripod and flash. February 4 -How to develop and print black and white film and prints. February 18 -Members program and title slides contest. March 3 -NAPA slides - The Canadian Rockies. March 17 - Demonstration. Winter photography provides many challenges March 31 -Members program -montages contest. April 14 -NAPA slides - putting together a simple photo essay. April 27 -Field trip. April 28 -Jack Plumtree talk and slides. May 12 -Photo contest for Art Mart outlined- \. contest -field trip. May 26 -Annual banquet -election of of- ficers and presentation of prizes for contests. .
