Hind - marsh's cabin, Black's Susan Cook wins medal in Hamilton competition The executive of the Goderich Figure Skating Club met Dec. 6 in the board room of the Recreation Office with 10 members present. It was announced at this meeting that we had two winners for our contest on Carnival Theme'. They are Michelle Harris, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ron Harris, R,R. 5, Goderich and Patricia Barger, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Alan Barger, R.R. 7 Lucknow. The chosen theme is "CIR- CUS", This was quite a job for the carnival committee because of all the good entries. On"the first weekend in December our club had several skaters attend the Hamilton -Stoney Creek Competition. They are John Barger, Patricia Barger, Aveleigh Cook, Susan Cook, Carol Dechert and Debbie Horton. Congratula ions go to, Susan Cook, 9 -year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Cook, 111 Trafalgar St., Goderich. Susan competed in the Pre - Juvenile Ladies • and brought home the bronze medal in this event. Keep up the good work, Susan. Susan is coached under` the direction of professional Rick Pettit of Goderich. On Nov. 28 a test day was held for our Wed- nesday skaters. Goderich now has a record of Three ties, a win and a loss with the London Blues. In other actioi the past month Goderich has split two games with the Zurich Oldtimers and defeated Lucknow 9-3. In the Sarnia tour- nament, Goderich finished tied for the last playoff spot with London and Wallaceburg, but lost out due to the goal spread.
