He held lucky ticket number 74. +++ Bill Partridge, chief librarian of the Huron County Library in Goderich, has been elected an Ontario Library Association Councillor for the 1979-80 session: Mr. Partridge has been involved in libraries in the provinces of Ontario and Nova Scotia since 1970. He served for one term as secretary - treasurer of Atlantic Provinces Library Association and recently completed two years as secretary -treasurer of the Canadian Association of Public Libraries of :CLA. Mr. Partridge feels the important issues facing the profession include the problem of intellectual freedom and methods of strengthening ai gu�l,ents with government -for continued support of libraries. By the way, have you noticed that work is progressing nicely on the new Huron County Libraryheadquarters to be -housed in the former Bethel` Pentecostal Tabernacle on Waterloo Street? That church's new church building on Bayfield Road was of- ficially opened last Sunday. +++ The Goderich Rotary Club is pleased to an- nounce that there will be a reception and, dinner prior to, the presentation of Handel's Messiah on December 20. The reception will begin at 6 p.m. with the dinner to follow at 6:30 p.m. Both will be held at t the Bedford Hotel. Tickets will be available at Donnelly, Murphy , and Pickell's Law Office on the Square and.must be picked up no' later than Monday, December 17, says Rotary Symphony Chairman, Dan Murphy. The subscription price is $10 per person. +++ The Rotary Club is about to say farewell to its exchange student, Lucia, who will be returning to her home in Brazil on December 29. Lucia has set an excellent example of how well the exchange program can work and many people in Goderich will be sorry to see her go. Mike Grace of Goderichis'reported to be doing well on his ex- change trip to Brazil and Janet Gardner, although she recently had an appendix` operation, is also reported to be doing well in Australia. +-+ Cheryl - Hodges, •daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Hodges of Port Albert, graduated with honors from Westervelt Business School in London on November 23.
