Design your very own
Christmas gift wrapping
You can design your
own wrapping paper. A
present wrapped in
specially printed paper
can be a very thoughtful
gift. Show someone you
care about them by
taking the time to create
unique wrapping paper
for their present.
To print your own
paper you need:
1. Paper - a large
enough sheet to wrap
your present in. Tissue
paper or a flattened
shopping bag are good
ideas.
2. Paint - as many
colours as you want.
3.._ Saucers or .bowls -.to
put the paint in.
4. Something absorbent
- paper towel, an old
sponge, facial tissue,
cotton balls.
5. A stamp to print
with.
Directions
1. Get the stamp ready.
A stamp can be made
from many different
things. Anything that is.

a pencil eraser, a rock, or
a piece of wood are just a
few things that make
good stamps. Left over
pieces of ratty vegetables
make interesting stamps
too. You can carve a
potato or carrot to make
an unusual shape. You
can use as many stamps
as you like to make the
design or picture you
want on your wrapping
paper.
2... Get the paint ready.
Put about a tablespoon of
paint in a saucer or bowl.
You can use as many
colours as you want.
Make a pad to stamp on
by placing in the paint
something- absorit`ent:
When you press your
stamp onto the pad just
enough paint should come
off to make a clean print
on your paper.
3. Make the design or
picture. Hold your stamp,
push it'down on the pad in
the saucer of paint, and
then press it onto your
paper.

Wingham hospital gets help
WINGHAM - Wingham
and District Hospital has
received an additional
$45,900 from the Ontario
Ministry of Health which
should bring the hospital
closer to balancing its
budget for the year.
Norman Hayes, ad-
ministrator of the
Wingham and District'
Hospital, says the money_
has already been
received from the
ministry. And he's hoping
for an additional
allocation of $10,500.
The Wingham ad-
ministrator says he is
"reasonably sure" the
hospital can come in on
budget with this extra
funding.
The hospital had been
predicting a shortfall of
about $50,000 at year end.
Earlier this year, the
board voted to close 14
beds and lay off 12 people
to help improve the
financial picture.
When the Wingham
board met recently, the
showed
financial
rep ort
that deficit had already
been decreased.
Wingham , hospital
board representatives
have had two meetings
with ministry officials
this fall.
Wingham hospital had
for a while, resisted a
ministry edict to cut,
hospital beds.' Now,
however, the hospital
bedding falls in line with
ministry. guidelines. The
hospital also has com-
pleted a cost ef-

despite the cutbacks, was
still headed for a deficit.
The ministry has
recognized the funding ,
problems at Wingham as
legitimate, and has ac-
cepted its reponsibility to
provide additional
financing, the Wingham
boa -rd was told.
Goderich's. Alexandra
Marine and General
Hospital has received an
additional $56,000 under

cumstances.
