annual r ree Throw compeloion. Th cornpetitIon; for--
After just two weeks of
curling only three of the
league's sixteen teams
have escaped the sting of
defeat. For the second
week in a row, skip Ron
Klages was able to
practice placing guards
in front of the house to
protect his front three's
rocks. The skillful
threesome of Dawn
Westbrook, Peter Bergin
and Dennis Miskie
dominated their coun-
terparts leaving Klages
with routine shots while
providing skip Dianne
Budnark with the almost
impossible challenges.
The final score of 10-2
indicates the hospital
foursome is ready for
their match next week
with their rivals from the
Hospital No. 2 team.
The Foresters have
established a successful
tactic of staying close to
an opponent and waiting
for the one opportunity to
blow the game wide open.
They demonstrated this
play once again against

St. Marys and Colborne

first leg of the Knights of
Columbus Free Throw
competition held at St.
Marys Friday.
Cathy Gallow, St.

old category, heidi Wick,

Popersnitch, St. Marys,

winner.
Colborne Central won

as they scored four in the -
fifth end to destroy a
close match and begin a
decisive victory which
ended with the score of 8-
2. Fine curling by Bob
Dempsey and Jim Collins
gave the undefeated
Foresters a brief scare
before they put the game
on "ice".
A shorthanded
Assessment Team
delivered the G.D.C.I.
Teachers No. 2 team their
first defeat of the season
by the convincing score of
11-1. The teachers ob-
viously missed their
excellent skip Dave Cloet
who is presently in
University Hospital. The
entire league hopes to see
Dave back on the ice very
soon. Sue Ritchie was the
star of the evening as she
pulled double duty as the
only sweeper for Jim Bell
and Dennis Lebrun in
addition to throwing
three rocks an end.
It was not a good night
for the teaching
profession at all. In ad-
dition to the defeat of the

categories with Jeff

year-old division, Jeff
