two league games
The Goderich Bantam
Bs lost a pair of games in
WOAA league play last
week.
Last Wednesday the Bs
dropped a 3-1,clecision to
Brussels and Monday
Elma-Logan thumped
Goderich 12-2 in a game
played in Monkton.
In the game in
Gode1ich last Wednesday
Brussels scored two goals
in the first period added a
single in the second and
hung for a 3-1 win.
Goderich scored the only
goal of the final period as
Chris Starkey scored on
an unassisted effort in the
final minute of play.
The Bs played two
periods of hockey against
Elma--Logan Monday
before the home team
scored eight goals in the
final period to win 12-2.
Goderich scored the
first goal or the game but
Elma-Logan replied with
three straight goals for a
3-1 lead after one period.
Elma Logan scored one
goal in the second period
to increase their lead to 4-
1.
Elma-Logan took a 5-1
lead in the first minute of
play in the final period
but Goderich back in the
game with a goal by Chris
Starkey. Elma-Logan
took over in the final 10
minutes of the game
scoring seven straight
goals.
The other, Goderich
goal was scored by Jeff
Feagan.
Committee makes
plans .for Bayfield
A sub committee of the
Goderich township
recreation group, chaired
by Doug Yeo, met during
the past week to make
definite plans for
recreation this winter at
the Bayfield arena.
To begin with, a ledrn-
to-curl fun night is
planned for Monday,
December 17, 7-9 p.m. at
Bayfield arena. All
persons of any age are
Welcome to come and see-
for–themselves DWI- What
this "curling" (of which,
his neighbour con-
tinually talks) is all
about.
If egli ?ugh people are
interested in furthering
this, an amateur curling
group may be formed.

B's win
three
The Goderich Juvenile.
Bs are enjoying a fine
start to their young
season claiming three
wins in four games.
The Juvenile Bs have
won the only exhibition
match they played and
have won two of three
games in league play.
Goderich won their
first game of the WOAA
schedule against Listowel
but evened their record
with a 3-2 loss to Hensall.
Last Sunday they turned
the tables with a 5-3
victory over Hensall for
the their second win.
Terry Schoemaker ,led
the Goderich attack with
three ,goals while team-
mates Tom Smith and
Kevin Campbell added
one goal apiece.Gary
Williams chipped in with
three assists. A total of 43
penalties were called in
the game.
The Juvenile Bs are
grouped in a league with
Hensall, Listowel,
Teeswater, Howick and
Ripley.

The Friday night mixed
bowling league standings
are severely close
heading into the third ,
month of play with the Six
Pack leading the four -
team league. The Bee
Gees are second and are
followed by the Gobiers
and Pinheads.
The league also honors
a bowler of the month and
the Winner for October
was DoUg BiTidley Of the
Pinheads who produced a
698 triple.
The November winner
was Brian Bazinet oif the
Sb Pack with a 281 I
single.
Steenstra has kindly
consented to organize a
young peoples hockey
league for Saturdays,
tentatively beginning
Jan. 5, 1-2 p.rn. and
running until the end of
March. The fee will be $7,
to be paid on or before the
first day. Contact Bill

further inforfnation.
On the last Saturday of
each skating month, the
twnshiwjIt sponsor a --
public skating hour from
1-2 p.m.

. The Clinton Mustangs
dropped two more games
last weekend, to run their
winless streak now to five
games in a row.
Last Friday night the
Wingham Ironmen were
in town and handed the
Mustangs a .5-3 defeat.
The Mustangs opened the
scoring on a goal by Steve
Arbour and the Ironmen
tied it up with six seconds
remaining in the period.
The second period
belonged to Wingham as
they scored three
unanswered goals to take
a 4-1 lead into the third
period. The Ironmen
opened the scoring in the
third period, but the
Stangs managed to score
twice, late in the period to
end the game 5-3. Dave
Stephenson and Phil
Arthur tallied for the
Stangs.
Last Sunday, the
Mustangs suffered their
worst beating of the
season. The Port Elgin
Bears handed the Stangs.
a 10-1 shellacking.
Ironically, the Mustangs
scored first in the contest
on a goal by Phil Arthur
early in the first period.
Port Elgin stormed
back with three goals in
the opening period and
then salted the game
away with five more in

into a two-way tie for
fourth place taking five
points from first place

second place. Bob Rising
rolled a 698 triple for the
angels and Melanie Swan
a 214 single for the B.B.s.

weekend victories if they
wish to remain in con-
tention for a playoff
berth, with the top three
teams having the home
ice advantage.
